Howdy all !
This here's a song by a newer fella by the name of Colter Wall. He writes what I can only describe as southern gothic.
Came home from work and had to record this one after singing it to myself in the car. Got brave with the slide. Let me know what you think!
Loved it - genuine old-style country blues-style music to my ears, well performed and recorded. And that slide was a really nice touch.

Nice! Check out Jean Pierre's jukebox for some slide-tastic work on lap steel and dobro.
love that bass in your acoustic. You have that really nice deep voice that goes so well with music like this!
Would like to hear a touch about your recording process, and what guitar maybe you used on this? The slide almost sounds a touch like fiddle, very cool...
btw... I am looking forward to many more posts from you...
Harkens back to a much better time in country music. Lovely tune and performance. Look forward to future posts. Welcome.

Hi dumont,
You can tell a story, and your execution is smooth and very believable.
Guitar playing is very nice.
The slide guitar is lovely, and skillfully played. I love it.
Well done!!!

Stuck to my guns with Ableton 11. I put an acoustic compressor and a kick boom effect which adds that spinny sound to the acoustic which you can hear in some parts as well as promoting the slow rhythm of the guitar. The slide guitar sound was accomplished with DI and a resonator effect from the Ableton library.
BTW Used the ole' Martin Road Series, I've since affectionately dubbed her "Goldfinch"
Hey... This is great! The vocal sound is perfect for a song like this. The playing has a great feel to it. You're really able to sell this song well.
Great work. I like country, but don't listen to it much, but I like it in small doses. Not too much of this great old style stuff seems to be produced nowadays, or maybe I haven't hunted for it enough. ... Stunning vocal on this! Kind of reminds me of Glen Campbell County Lineman
