Done! Much harder challenge than I expected but I definitely am comfortable with the banjo. HB Tenor Banjo, Ibanez A/E bass, Roland Handsonic 10 drums, Vangoa Mandolin & Kala Archtop Tenor uke.
1 banjo vocal (stereo)
1 drum (stereo)
1 bass
1 mandolin
1 uke solo
Lilly (Are You Happy)
written by Hall & Oates
performed by Hook
ah...from the first notes the sound of the hook uke always makes me feel refreshed
excellent mix and interpretation and the mandolin is the icing on the cake
beautiful
what it is ..a banjo vocal ?
Firstly, congratulations on finishing the whole album. I've enjoyed all the tracks but this one's my favourite !
Pete
Yes, I got a Harley Benton Tenor Shortscale Banjo about a month ago. I challenged myself to record the entire 1st album from Hall & Oates so I could learn my chords, etc. The last 11 posts of mine have all been banjo based. I also just got a new mandolin so I have been adding that the last few songs.
Thanks for listening!
ROCK ON!
Hook, I can almost see Hall and Oats doing this with you right here... you sing it with such convictions.... I don't think I would ever attempt an entire album cover...that is amazing... and you almost got it all done!!! All the while gigging regularly and learning new things...
that is good for the brain! major coolness!

Almost??? I'm done!
Rock on!
Well done Hook. That's quite an accomplishment.
I've put all 11 songs in their own jukebox so people can listen to the whole album uninterrupted.

I'm breaking the rules, this is the first one I have listened to - I have been watching the progress but just diving in now.
This is a tricky song, masterfully done, the instrumentation is unusual and refreshingly different. I like it.
