What a year for music 1972 was. There are so many songs I'd love to cover, but was immediately drawn to this one. I've played around with it before (Small Faces and Faces fan) but never tried to record it.
This is also the first proper 'test' of my Casino Coupe. There are two layers of it - a bit of crunch in one channel and bottleneck slide in the other. Plus Ibanez bass and GB drums, piano and organ.
Good old fashioned rock and roll :D
This is beyond good! Wow.... love that piano too and the guitar of course in the stratosphere....
almost don't notice the bass and then you do and it is excellent as well.
great cover and I totally agree what a great year for music it was.
I think the version of this I know Rod Stewart was singing on.
Love this ! 1972 was the year I started getting into music, having just moved up from junior school to grammar school, and this is one of my favourite songs from that year. It was seeing groups on TV like the Faces, T.Rex, Alice Cooper, David Bowie that started me wanting to learn guitar. Great version !

Never realised you were a Small Faces and Faces fan (Jeff Beck Group too? Truth and Beck-ola).
My old drummer would LOVE this.
He's a HUGE Faces fan, Ronnie Lane mainly for him (and Ronnie Lane's solo stuff) - you got Ronnie bass going here.
I'm more into Rod and Ron Wood myself... and Steve Marriott (what about Humble Pie? Are you into them?)
Anyways, yesssirrreee....
This ROCKS like it should.
And you found a voice that means I'm not missing Rod.
Yep, Stephen, EVERY version I have of this has Rod singing on it (I've got one with Tina Turner and Kim Wilde guesting, but it was still Rod's gig).
This is such a great song and so is your cover of it, Tim! I recognized the Casino slide right off; it has the same characteristic sound as mine. Everything works here! I agree, 1972 was great year for music. Nicely done!
whoar! tasty!
Wow top drawer stuff.
That guitar sounds amazing,an excellent performance.
Tres Braw Bro!
Gritty cover. Guitar sounds great. Love it
:)
FU*(&(KING WOW !!!!!! :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o
WHAT DO I DO NOW???????
That was SOMETHING ELSE MAN
THAT WAS WONDEFUL
Love it. Was just delving into the Beck/Stewart recordings recently.
Great mix and performance. Great piano additions.

Wowie - Your new Casino Coupe sounds nice and throaty. Just can't beat the sound of P90s on a hollow body. Excellent purr in the vocals and the organ is great.
I don't often say this because I'm a fan of shorter songs, but I was digging it so much it seemed like it was over too soon. Well done!
So the Greeny just keeps on pushing the envelope... Damn this is good! :D Really groovy!
What a great cover! Excellent production and that bass guitar work is just stunning - busy without getting in the way - a tribute to the mixing skills presented here. Not to mention great guitar work and stellar vocals. Great work, Tim; love it.
wooooow, I have to learn to play all the '1972' !!!! Piano and organ simple but effective, congrats
Making some great music with the new axe Tim. You're owning this Fest. You've got a lot of versatility.
You've got it all right there - you don't need anything else.
Festtastic.
QuoteGood old fashioned rock and roll

Beautiful music, and you did justice to the song.
Your guitars are fabulous, and they sound like gold.
