vdgg where a big influence on fish/marillion, the song refugees is from 1969
I have never hear this band - more great stuff to dig up now. I agree great singing, cheesy midi - wish I had talent to add - horrible at midi myself and can't even get my usb keyboard to work - I've tried everything, dammnit!!
Hope you can find a mate for this one.

i love the way music inspires and goes full circle. enjoy:)))
steve hillage was in the original line up of gong
never heard before-liked it much-
I'm afraid the midi file cheesed me out too much. This is also one of my all time fave VDGG songs, the original is majestic and spine tingling. I just couldn't make it all the way through this one, sorry. But your voice really can handle Hammill and Gabriel style vocals very well. Definitely a future project should include some serious prog collabs.
BTW, I have an idea for a song underway inspired by much of the great psychedelic-y stuff that JK have done. Each line of the chorus has a reference to a prog or psychedelkic song, one of them being "Whatever would Robert have said". Now you've given the game away!
Cheers,
Nigel
This proves orh can even make a song out of a ringtone! And what's wrong with drinking in the afternoon? It just gives you more drinking time, lol. That midi needs some roughing up - Glasgow style!
Far too much hair on this post - way too much in fact.

This tune has that theatrical ambience!! Cool "live" musical theatre!!
The double vocals - octave apart sounds really cool on here!!
I must admit, I'm not familiar with VDGG's music (that is easier than typing Van der Graaf Generator, isn't it... crap, I just typed it), but this is certainly a well written song. I find something strangely appealing about the primitive calliope/mellotron sounding accompaniment. Probably just means I'm weird. Your voice fits very nicely here. I like the octave voices. Really nice work!
