Hi guys,
I thought that with this country fest I would pick some songs that would mean something to me.
The Hank Williams one I did was for my dad ,this one is for my mum.
Although willie Nelson wrote it, its the patsy cline version I remember my mum singing.
She would stand in our tenement flat and look out the window while she done the dishes and sing like
a songbird.
Now I know there is already a beautiful version of this but
I couldnt deviate from my original train of thought.
Furthermore I was propelled into action by the advice of a fellow songcrafter which was really nice.
I was going to put guitars and drums etc on it but when I listened back I like the intimacy of just the piano.
Theres a string effect doubled up with it from my piano.
Im no virtuoso but its from my heart.
A kind of message to float out there to my mum.
Hope you like it.
Hope you like it.
Please note this is a tribute to the artist and the construction of the song for songcrafting purposes and not intended for any monetary gain..
Nice one Kenny one of my all time favourite numbers of Willie Nelson...
Great cover pal.... Alex
well, there are many versions of this cirulating around so why cannot you do another?
I really like your singing on this...of course you are that guy....that guy that plays and sings so beautiful...and can do most anything...hats off to you sir! (yes, I could be just a touch jealous!)
Nice take on this classic.
I'd like to think it's reached your mum too and she's got it on repeat with a huge smile on her face and very proud of her boy.
So lovely!
No need to add anything else perfect the way it is your mom will be smiling
Tim
Lovely Kenny, quite lovely. I am sure your mum would be very proud, and rightly so. The combo of (mainly) piano and vox works very well, and you handled both beautifully. A great version and a wonderful listen.
Now that's just beautiful.
Sang with love.
Really a great performance Kenny!
Lovely! I love the story behind it, and the way you've kept the song bare works wonders. It's a heartfelt performance.
