Just some good old rock n' roll to blow the cobwebs away ...
I'm gonna wind up your clock give your door a knock
Give a little shock to your system
Shoot you up to space put the smile back on your face
Give a little taste of what you been missin'
Gonna give whatever I got give it all give the lot
All the spots you got will know where I kissed 'em
I'll unblock whatever's blocked when my key goes in your lock
An' I give a little shock to your system.
Gonna give your wheels a turn make your body burn
Then you're gonna learn what I'm teaching
We can try anything; give your bell a ring
Practice everything I been preaching
We're gonna roll we're gonna rock, gonna tick gonna tock
Gonna hickory dickory dock with a mission
When I wind up your clock and give your door a knock
And give a little shock to your system.
And when we've had our bit of fun and woken everyone
We can tell anybody who'll listen
That we rocked around the clock a few times round the block
And gave a little shock to our system.
Yeah we rocked around the clock a few times round the block
And gave a little shock to our system.
Nice riff and the Piano+Guitar rock thing has a great classic 50s rock vibe. Fun lyrics and great groove.
Very good song .. really like the vibe .. The playing and vocals are great ..
Also the mixing/mastering is really good ..
Great work ..
isn't this just a ton of fun? southern goodness with that Eagles like west coast strut....it's everything good in in good ole rock and roll all wrapped up in one....vocals are very fine as well....
another smash
I love me some rock and roll and this is one hell of a rocker!
I really like the title too, very clever.

It's got a great sounding classic rock and roll sound, with some heavy blues Rock guitar thrown in there, a bit ZZ top in places. ( and a bit of Chas and Dave maybe lol ) .Ray it's an excellent rocker, amazing music as always. Great, witty lyrics and some great vocals mate.
that opening guitar riff...freakin AAAA awesome...reminds me of some of Linda Ronstadt's bands stuff....bloody great....
if you took this track and put her singing it back in the 70's it would have topped the charts just as is...
you are a great studio musician man...
and your vocals are fine too...
The energy and fun here is so great.....its a howler for sure...ywa, Linda Ronstadt....
Razor sharp from start to finish. Beautifully played, really well arranged and brilliantly recorded and produced. And huge fun, you had my feet tapping away. A really enjoyable slice of rock'n'roll, bravo Ray.
Wow! Perfect, classic rock. Shades of Stealers Wheel, ELO, and Dave Edmunds. Good clean rock and roll fun. That slide work is phenomenal. Brilliant.
Man, I'm finding it hard keeping track of all the great songs on here.
This is top notch stuff, right up my street.
This could have been a wilburys tune.
Excellent playing and your vocal fits like a glove.
Great lyrics too.
Outstanding.
A great rocking song! The first thing that hits me with this are the vocals. The character, the sound and the performance! It's not easy to sell these kinds of lyrics, and you're really doing the good deed. The lyrics are golden, and filled with constant hooks. The guitars are driving, and the arrangement keeps everything tight. The song never lets up, and the're no fat in the songwriting here.
This song needs a few repeat listens to catch everything. The story is at the center, but the way you're throwing the punches with the battling guitars warrants a few listens on its own :) The drum arrangement is detailed, and sounds like you've really put a lot of attention into building it. The piano is there to add an another layer of sparkle!
This slightly reminded me of Kevin Bloody Wilson, but without the crudeness. There's always an audience for songs like this.
Oh yes, I do like this old rock n' roll style. Great work on this Ray and absolutely love the slide!
I think it's all been said an excellent rocker Ray
had to give this one another listen , top class ... cheers tony cee
