even newer mix by Cuthbert 7/7/21
1-This makes me Happy!!!!!!
2-Clearly, I have asked some songcrafter friends to help me finish my Hook For Sale album, thank you Hilary & Geir. When I decided to ask for some collaborations I instantly knew that I wanted this song to be with our beloved admin team. They did a Christmas song together a few years ago and I remember thinking then I wanted to record with them. They really came through like gangbusters! I sent a uke, drum & vocal track (3 stereo tracks) & ended up using 42 tracks on my Br80 to come up with this...and I love it.
Flash Harry is on the bass & walk that mother f&%$#r he does.
64Guitars rocks out the lead guitar
cuthbert holds it together on rhythm & background vocals
OldRottenHead joins me on lead & background vocals
I play uke & did the drums in garageband.
3-Having spent time with OldRottenHead (in Finland of all places) it only makes me want to meet, share a drink & jam in person with these other 3 fine gentleman. One day. This site means alot to me and having all these friends (more to come) help me out with these recordings, when I know each of their lives is busy and challenging...well, Thank you all!
Honey Don't
written by Carl Perkins
performed byThe Administration
(64Guitars, OldRottenHead, Cuthbert, Flash Harry)
& Hook
What an outrageously fun song! You all knocked it out of the park and peaked the fun meter on this collaboration. Hook, a great idea for this admin. inclusive collab. The way you put it together rocks. All of you take a bow!

Oh my goodness what fun!
Fantastic!
Oh honey do :)
OUTSTANDING to all what a great cover with equally great players

Tim
Brilliant guys, you all sound like you were in the same room.
Fabulous collaboration.
Great to hear Mr 64 belting it out.
Well done.
major coolness points...very major
What a wonderful version, and what a huge pleasure to hear the admin group rocking out! This has come together superbly, I love the dual lead vocals and the backing vox. There's also some very tasty guitar work from 64G, what a pleasure to hear one of those 64 guitars for real. The rhythm and bass hang together beautifully, it's almost as if the admin team have a shared interest in something like JavaScript and HTML.......
Nice production work Hook, it all sounds great. A joyous track and a real fun listen, well done guys!!
Yeah baby!
I am sitting here with a big grin on my face listening to this... sooooo good! Swinging like crazy this is how to do it. It sounds live. This is just so much fun with a fair amount of talent thrown in. Mighty fine... oh and 64.... yeah man that was great :)
Mike
It really sounds like you are all having a party recording this together in Abbey Roads Studio 2! Absolutely great vocals on this, so freeform and genuine and enthusiastic!
beautiful version of a song I love, I remember the live version of Ringo Starr, but your version is absolutely splendid
Not only a exciting song, but what a cool band name "Hook & the Administration" LoL. Fantastic!!!!
Love the whole thing. Fantastic energy and fun, but especially loving that sweet rockabilly guitar. The spoken Hook interjections are fantastic - totally makes it sound like an in-person jam. Everybody brings something cool to this party :-)
Love it.
So good to hear the admin team again ! We want more !
Thank you all for the very nice comments, I love listening to this. Cuthbert did a new mix and I tthink it sounds far superior to my old one so I have switched it.Again a big thanks to the Admin team for their help, talent and skills.
Rock on!
Even tastier!
So well done!
As others have said, it sounds convincingly live.
This has such an American feel to it, I listened to it wondering, "How the heck is ORH going to sound against this, and after Hook's commanding, confident verses?" Fantastic, that's how!
Great job by everyone involved.
I really had a blast playing on this one (especially after a dry spell). Hook's enthusiasm here is infectious...in the best way!
Incomparable performance by Mr. Hook on lead vocals & uke, 64Guitars' lead guitar work was fantastic (inspired me to stretch a bit into rockabilly territory with my electric rhythm guitar part), and Flash Harry's driving bass and Oldrottenhead's outstanding vocals were the cherries on top.
For the final mix, I dusted off the Waves Abbey Road plug-ins, which were applied just about everywhere.
Thanks again to Hook and the rest of The Administration. Rock on, fellas!
What a great collab, well done guys, rockabilly magic!
There's so much good music, and great performances on these forums that i'm at the end of my vocabulary!
Let's just say that this one is COOKIN' and all the right ingredients are there :) Mighty fine collaboration with many of the forum heavyweights doing
what they do best!
Pure Magic, take a bow lads...
Now that was fun! I could feel the enthusiasm & cleverness from my speakers. It was as if it were live but I could only imagine seeing you guys on a stage. Great collab and great version of a cool song. Good work Gents!
