Not a particularly faithful cover because it was easy just to be 'me' on this one. It's another special Lennon song, and Macca's bass on the original is pretty much my template for how I wanted to play.
This one is double 12-string - both acoustic and electric. The electric layer isn't prominent though. Plus vocals, Ibanez bass and GB drums. All recorded and mixed on the MBR.
You have made this your own Tim. It's great. All the vocals are always good, and the back vocals are especially Lennon.
Wonderful.
Love it ????
This is a special Beatles' song and you've done a special cover of it in the Greeny style. Nice bass playing and I like the way the 12 strings sparkle! A great recording and mix on the MBR.
Smoking cover brother really liked how you put this together
Tim
I really enjoyed this, thanks.
Lovely open, relaxed feel. The guitar sounds like a mandolin a bit (though that could be because I'm listening on my phone speaker).
Enjoyed that a lot
:)
As always Tim, a first clsss performance....
Well done.... Alex
Are you sure you didn't write this and then go back in time and give it to Lennon? It sounds so "you". I love your arrangement, the harmonies in particular are wonderful (especially that descending "round round round"), and you give this a real Greeny feel. Had it looping around and just keep loving your vocals on all of this. Nice bass work as well, Macca is an underrated and inspirational bass player.
Really great cover Tim, well done.
I remember this song from the eighties when I started studying energy technics, the song was on the cassette. I haven't heard this much after then, so this has many memories...
Great take of fine Beatles song. Your version has a warm Greeny stamp...
Everything here is just beautifully done. The vocals are outstanding and man, that bass !!! Wow
Total beauty .... a deep song done up wonderfully.....I am with Nigel...and you say it sort of yourself...it is as if you wrote this one and went in a time capsule to give it to the boys.....I can see how this song became a strong blueprint for your songwriting...spectacular...huge influencial song....it is one of the absolute classics
Everything in its place, sitting just were it should be.
Vocals are outstanding, backing vocals come in and out superbly.
An amazing performance, you've shone in this fest.
You should get on to landrs site and release a beatles cover album, they apparently take care of the licence side of it.
These covers are too good not to be out there.
Excellent stuff mate.
Marvelous brother, just Marvelous. So well put together and the lush harmonies..
Rock on!
Those 12 strings sound zingy, great bass, and excellent vocals (and harmonies). What's not to love?
Fabtastic!
another smash homerun Tim
amongst everything else i love the bass
Really well done. That guitar sounds great... sounds even a little Led Zepplinish and the Bass is beautifully done. A very lovingly crafted cover.
MIke
This is quite beautiful Tim. And so are you.
Love this chill, laid back version of the song. You made this song your own and, like others have said, it really has a Greeny jangle to it. Your vocals and bass playing were a real treat. Beautiful, just beautiful.
Very good version. The guitars are really nice, great vocals too :)
Another killer-good Greeny-style cover.... That 12 string is really jangling away and sounds good (is that a unique touch, or was a 12-string used on the original too?)
After "The Night Before" appeared in the jukebox, I scanned the list to see how many other songs you did for this Fest. But when I saw "Dear Prudence," I thought, This is going to be really good.
And yup.
