This is a collab between myself and JP. So what we got here is my backer, which a kind of funky, mellow thing. Just a bit of a groove. Jean Pierre kindly offered to put down some lap steel to make an instrumental version.
It ended up being quite trippy and mind bending I think, think Mike and JP go down the early Pink Floyd route!?
Anyway thanks for listening... and thank you JP :)
Coolness!!!! SC is ramping....upupupup.... this is cool crazy cool... and I find it interesting Mike you seem to talk about yourself in the 3rd person as if this is someone you are observing..... I gotta admit JPs stuff and yours is an incredible psych a delicious panoramic view into a new music dimension......listening on a friggin phone and this is awe. Sum.... cant wait to toke and hear on something more audiophile

I was think that as well, but there are moments where it goes to other points of awesomeness. Very tasty music guys!
Ooh, loving this. Superb backer and lovely slide (and other leads). I really liked the heavy section at around 2:39, an awesome change of mood and feel. I adore all the guitar sounds, the lap steel and everything else. This one really works so well, you should do more like this.
You are right, it would fit right on to Obscured by Clouds no problem. It sounds like it comes from that era Floyd. And you reminded me that I was due to go and see Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets yesterday (now postponed for the third time until May next year). So this was a nice substitute!
The lovely slide definitely takes it into Pink Floyd 'Breathe' territory. Some nice reverse-sounding psychedelia going on, and all held together by a solid groove. Trippy indeed! Excellent.
Delicious !!
Fab sounding trip going on here.
love it
I totally get the Floyd comparison, that's what thought when I first heard it! Great job guys.
Thank you Mike for this great collaboration
I hope that Warren will give us a definitive version of the sung version, which is nice
I have to admit that I like David Guilmour's work on Lap steel
Pureclass guys,
fantastic music. Really well
Done, love it.... Alex
As soon as it started I thought of pink Floyd too :) especially that slide guitar. It sounds brilliant. What a great collaboration. So many good collaborations on this site I don't think I've seen that on other ones I've used in the past. Great work.

I love this...it turned this into a serious guitar mood piece ... very excellent slide work
Very cool. This is best as an instrumental, I think, good call to not put my vocal idea on with the slide.
I feel you got the saturation and distortion just right on the slide, which is important, I feel the beauty of the slide comes out when it's a bit wild.

too bad, I liked the version with lyrics too, are you sure?
JP has really established himself as a great slide player on this site and this is a perfect example of his work. A great collab between you guys and an excellent composition, Mike. Well done.
I agree with PF comparison, too. Just an excellent collab, guys! Very tasty guitars and fine drum arrangement!
