This is a pretty simple pop-rock love song. I haven't made many originals (mostly post covers), but I was messing with my guitar trying to learn a major scale and came up with a little melody phrase. That led to a little lyric, and I expanded on that using the tried and true method of conjuring up a sappy love story.

Keep 'em coming!
Lovely hook on the chorus and I like the chug of the guitar adding depth on the chorus part. Proper feel-good pop. Everything nicely balanced and delivered with confidence - a great listen. Nice one.
Very fine melodies throughout. Very catchy, especially that chorus. Great recording as well, love the shimmer in those lead guitar tracks
You put chords because you knew we wanted to sing and play along uh? Youre right! This song is really infectious, and the "What I'm gonna do is never stop loving you" line could be repeated forever LOL.
really nice song and playing... fantastic actually.... I would also say that I was reminded of a group that I love but couldn't get my finger on it...I kept listening...then it hit me.... REO Speedwagon...this is them minus the Gary Richrath solo that always came...but they could write some really great pop rock love ballads that got all the girls to come to the stadium, which of course meant so did the guys...and I admit I loved REO...they rocked...but they had that soft side love song stuff that Kevin Cronin brought...
good writing too...it's a winner in my humble opinion.... I like your voice alot...it's unique...
Almost reminiscent of the velvet underground.
Catchy tune ,youve done a great job.
Well done.
This is great, perfect catchy pop, love song. It sounds like one of those classic pop songs from yesteryear. Really like the guitar sound and the chords. Great lyrics, catchy chorus and great vocal sound. :) Darren
really nice song Doug, it's a pop love song indeed
My wife and I have no problem because we both love (good) wine and (beautiful) cars
nice catchy tune , love the sound of the guitars , love your vocal . superb song loved it .......cheers tony cee
Really enjoyed ....a sweet tune ...catchy chorus good production
Nicely done! This is really well performed. I like the upbeat feel good vibe. It has a bit of a sixties/seventies pop vibe for me and I'm not sure why. A really unique voice with a lot of character. Great tune.

This is awesome, I have listened four times and it is really growing on me big time with each listen....I get the Velvet Underground comparison...I also get a Daniel Johnston vibe, especially in the vocals......big time ...indie power pop....beautiful chorus...total great song ...well done
Catchy and laid-back pop song. So well written and performed. Nice to hear new music from you!
Simple, but very catchy and effective. I love the chorus and the chords you used on that. Very nice work, nothing wrong with trying a few more originals.
> You can drive my cars, and I'll drink your wine,
I loved this. You did a call-back. Comedians do it. Writers (song and book) do it. It's so great when it works, and it worked perfectly here.
Musically this is fun, and I like the sense of real life mixed with hopeful and romantic sentiments, but tempered with some realism.
This is great, I love it! The guitar work is very well recorded & mixed, and the vocal delivery fits in perfectly. My fave is that steady light chug in the chorus, it's awesome. The "yeahs" made me smile, reminded me of Henny a little bit. Four minutes that passed by so quickly, a sign of a great number!
What a well written and performed tune, you should be really proud of it. Must... do... more!
This sounds good. And I like the Am in the chorus. You say it's simple, and maybe it is, but I think it sounds damn fine.
Well if you wanted to write a pop song you nailed it in shades it would s a very catchy tune love it and thanks for th breakdown of what went into th song
Tim
Thanks for the kind feedback everyone! I'm inspired to try to produce more original songs.
I think an influence on the song is actually country music songs where some of them tell a whole life story in the song, and some of modern ones also use a "modern light crunch" rhythm guitar to enhance the chorus (also common in 90s pop?). And I also doubletracked the vocals only on the chorus. Some people have mentioned before in the past that my voice sounds a bit like Lou Reed - I don't actually listen to him much, besides the couple classic rock radio hits, but will have to look deeper into that.
