"Banks of the Ohio" is a 19th-century murder ballad, written by unknown authors, in which "Willie" invites his young lover for a walk during which she rejects his marriage proposal. Once they are alone on the river bank, he murders the young woman.
this version is inspired by Mike Witcher and Scott Nygaard, tribute to them

I didn't know this song or story JP (thanks for the info link) but this sounds so good! Your dobro and acoustic sliding and picking are both excellently played!

Very, very nice my friend! What are your current rules about going outside for fresh air, exercise - are there any specific restrictions? In most of California infections are actually pretty low right now and vaccination progress good and we are told we will probably open everything 100% in mid June!
I never knew the back story of this song even though I've heard it many times. Great guitar playing, JP - that slide sounds beautiful.
Wonderful, really classy ! (how the hell such a song can talk about a murder LOL)
Lovely playing and wonderful sounds, they certainly seem at odds with the idea of a murder ballad! But a pleasure to listen to such lovely guitars, well done JP.

Ohhh. Dark story, but super playing. That's one hell of a sound coming from that guitar. It doesn't get any more pure/earthy than this. Lovely JP.

kind of reminds me of a movie I watched when i was a kid where the main character said "each man kills the thing he loves".... I suppose on some levels that is true.... but i don't think that is really love if she says no and you whack her....is it?
really super nice playing JP...
Beautifully played up JP a pleasure to listen to
