Markus Moore-Keyboards (casio privia)
yours truly drums lyrics vocals
the inspiration (if you want to call it that) was this afternoon on the back porch as we were at war with a hornet that eventually succumbed to us.... and then Markus got on the keyboards and I got on the drums... I hit record and this came out eventually...
Liking it, Stephen, well done... Alex
Wow, what's going on in that head of yours? This is quite a trip, similar in some ways to the Grendel/Beowulf track by TC (Such Evil Creatures). Loving the drums and the synth sounds, and I'll have some of whatever you were on when you were doing the vocals...... ;) Very different, very cool.
Genuinely scary and disturbing! Kind of avant-garde horror. The synths remind me of the 80's 'Giallo' Dario Argento Italian horror films I'm into. Wild and interesting stuff!
What a strange trip your on, lol. It's done quite well, creative and spooky Stephan!
Farrell
This sounds like a soundtrack to a John carpenter horror film:) I love it, love the synths and the ominous bass tone. Great drums too, love the vocals and lyrics. Sometimes the best stuff is out of spontaneity.
Darren
Bloody Hell, Stephen this is weird and I agree with Darren it sounds like the soundtrack to a John Carpenter horror flick. There are few things more disturbing than spontaneous weirdness. Like the playing of the last post at the end - nice touch and RIP for the hornet.
boom......that is some good sheeeet right here.....deadly...I love your vocal here......stunning...simply stunning....but their petoleum product...killer line.....you are killing me here Steve
this is the last song on my lunch break and what a way to end the listening got me smiling well done brother
Tim
I love it! Can I do part 2 -"The Hornet brothers return to the site"?

Why not?
This is kind of a Trippy Horror Show Song, that could be part of a three act musical.
Alas, poor Hornet, we knew ye well,
Now off with ye, off with ye,
Fly,
Fly,
straight to hell.
The taps part is awesome.
Man, how do come up with these ideas? So great sounding as well, I can hardly think of any comparisons. Those vocals are seer, off the wall goodness.
what kinda stuff are you taking stephen . . i love the sound you have on the drums they sound superb , love the last post at the end , made me laugh out loud , brill .......cheers tony cee
...a stranger song >...but magnifique
Trippy! - but I don't believe wasps have skeletons? ;)

interesting comment about the skeleton...and I admit i took many ridiculous liberties on this song...mostly the lyrics were spontaneous response to the music after having watched the hornet die... I hate hornets and wasps, yellow jackets etc...and the names do get used interchangeably and likely incorrectly....
after doing a bit of reading they do have what is called exoskeletal... in retrospect I should have used the word armour to describe...oh well...thanks for listening...I hope I never do anything like that one again...it's almost too scary...although there is a point in the singing where I almost burst into laughter because the whole thing is so ridiculous... I will say this though...if I ever decide to try out for a local theater I will use that as my resume...lol
This is badass I love it - You should try the spray foam stuff, one puff of that and they're done!
I had to kill a wasp that got into our bedroom this morning, I immediately thought of this song, wondering what was going through it's mind haha!
This is a really great, original and unsettling too. Love the screams at end, very funny too in parts. Great music and performance. :). Darren
Started off liking the authentic drums, then decided that the vocal is also awesome, then listening closer the keyboards are great too. So its an all around great performance!
Psychedelic and and a bit experimental! It works!
I know we aren't really supposed to self bump but there are a couple of reasons why I am going to on this...
first off...my son Markus (16) did the keyboards so technically I am bumping him...
second... I was having a bit of a discussion with Zoltan about the fact that we don't really like our voices much...and that last October I was close to giving up on singing anymore on my recordings... after some encouragement from several members here I continued on (gasp)...
and now I am glad I did because I would never have come up with this... I know it's shocking and disturbing (and highly original) but it's very theatrical (and I kind of got that from Trevor)...
it's ok to go for something big and different...we aren't all going to be Steve Walsh or Steve Perry...so now I am just trying to be me...
and third there are some new folks on the site that might like hearing this...thanks for listening!
