This is one from the dark side. ....
Tim started this madness with some keys and guitars. James did his magic with twisted words and voice. Mike sequenced some synthy bass and some more synths and glued it all together after I had added a double tracked guitar that doubled one of the synths and added a frantic guitar trying to communicate with the monster.
Sleep well ....... >:D
Oh and I think it goes as a cut up fest contribution...... James will verify that
Great sounds,love that sequenced keyboard.
It's a dark feeling track, everyone sounds right in the mix.
Well done to the kites.
Strong vibe from the 80's to my ear.
Bravo Jemima's Kite!
Ps. Great to see you Geir, again!
This is fab that beginning synth drives you into the track perfectly with Jims lyric the icing on the cake ....the break with the monster guitar oooh yeah! Excellent track
Am at work just now and still haven't heard the final mix yet. Will post lyric when I get home. Geir is correct that lyrics are a cut up. They are cut up from letters by serial killers and letters to serial killers by fans/admirers. In the sequence I did lyric straight after Tim started track. But song was then put on back burner as news headlines at the time in UK may have seemed to influence the choice of lyric. However that was pure coincidence but still made us decide to shelve the song in the meantime. So Mike and Geir's additions where all done in the last week or so when we decided to resurrect the song.
What a brilliant song and the video Is going to give me nightmares. What was the film clips from? Looks like the joker from batman but 10 times scarier :D
I love the music, very 80's feel to it. Ultravox, Gary numan vibe. And the lyrics and vocals sound great. It's all a great collaboration. :) Darren
Excellent song , love the 80's vibe with the keyboard and guitar.. reminds me of Depeche Mode/Ultravox
Great work ..
That is badass!! Scared me to the bones, and I loved it. Reminds me of a package I have to send out...
This is a MONSTER OF A SONG[/size]
Great synthwave sound. I knew there was something off kilter about the song listening to the lyrics and definitely letters from/to serial killers would fit the bill. You do good job portraying the madness at play James. Brilliant angular guitar contribution as well Gier. All of you guys pulled off a very cool track.
deep groove here, wicked and wild vocals...and that guitar break...whewwwww lads....its got the spook for sure
Holy hell!....holy hell..
Rock the fuck on!
Oh yes, spooky, disturbing, scary..........and that's just Jim! Loving this one, the sequenced rhythm sets up a throbbing mood throughout and the lyrics are great, clever idea from Jim and they wok really well. The arrangement is incredibly atmospheric and Geir's guitar at 3:05 is superb, a fantastic sound and really inventive playing. The synth chords are nice as well, they have a disquieting edge to them.
The video is another level of weird, it really fits the music well. The spooky Lord Snooty scenes look like they come straight from the Everbleak Asylum......... ;)
Fab track guys, really well put together on all levels. Superb stuff.
This is effing brilliant. It starts off brilliantly anyway and draws you in but there is a great lift for the chorus that literally lifts you up. Wonderful, wonderful stuff. Very dark indeed. There is that eighties thing going on, but there is a real 21st century feel too. I think this would be perfect as a soundtrack to something like Dexter... it's that good.
