Something old part.2. Again lyrics by my friend and favorite american poet Michael LeBlanc, and me and Marco closed again in the basement to record this song: me at composing/acoustic guitars, him arranging/singing/recording and playing all the other intruments.
Here is it!
Crack Motel
Verse
Am Am/G
Crack motel, rainy night
F Esus7 E7
doorway prophets, devil's delight
Covered mirrors, tin foil heaven
burned out flower, green door room 7
Verse
One dim bulb, fuck movie TV
towel filled tub, paycheck vanity
Stench stained sheet, death looming air
brown carpet reaks, of worn despair
Verse
Dirty syringe, two dollar wine
lustful binge, borrowed time
Laid by the hour, the skinny asses
paid by the powers, of suited classes
Verse
Pimp gets rich, slut gets bored
same old tricks, housewife scorned
Another night, behind the sun
no end in sight, pass the gun
I really like this! The ride was like flowing down a peaceful stream which turned into a raging current with Santana overtones. (?)
Whatever, it's 2:30 AM and I'm high. Seriously, the familiar progression, great rhythm, power vocals and those lyrics! Wow, a very nice collaboration!
Amazing! Love the bleak, skid row and conversational lyric juxtaposed with the sweet and gentle acoustic guitar. And then the extended instrumental break-out. The words are great - poetry indeed. And the music is wonderful.
Great song sad lyrics then the lead I loved the way the lead intertwined with the keyboard work really made it stand out
Tim
it's really beautiful! I loved the very sad lyrics and the transition with the guitar solo
...beautiful
PS can I try to add some weissenborn notes in the first part and saturated lap steel in the second part, under my series confinement collaboration universal workshop?
Jean Pierre, it would be a pleasure to hear that! Thank you!!!
The opening of gentle acoustic guitar, topped by the spoken word, lets the song release with ease as the story unwinds. Then bam! The lead guitar burst onto the scene with some very tasty playing. Excellent!

That's a great song. Quite sad, but excellent tune. Like the way it built up. Great performances and music and vocals. Darren. :)
As Darren says above, a sad song but great. The lyrics are melancholy and somewhat reminiscent of the beat poets of the early 60's. Lovely guitar work too BTW.
don't know what to say...it's incredibly true and sad lyrics... the broken and damaged lives chosen by so many....it's funny how humans love to destroy one another...I don't spend much time being serious...it just hurts too much...
but I love this song...
love the accent in the singing too...
and the solo is great...
brilliant stuff...sobering
Ahhh the bass triplets with the solo, very nice! Yes, I like this tune very much!
Very nicely done. I was really enjoying the acoustic and strings and then the electric guitar came in, wow. A fantastic solo. A sad song beautifully played with lots of dynamics. Really powerful in its emotional impact.
spectacular, very much enjoyed this...solo is so fine......simply stunning song
Bleak, but vivid lyricism, an excellent set of words. Somber acoustic makes way to some truly electrifying leads, great musicianship all around. Another top drawer song from you and Marco; keep em coming! :)
Killer track! Profound, poetic, tragic lyrics. Excellent guitar solo, all around brilliance from all contributors...gave me chills.
PS: Love the line "Fuck movie TV". Love it.
