Title: Rory's Guitar Emporium (PhotoFest)

PhotoFest (banner image missing)

Could also qualify for Valentines Day mini-fest at a stretch  :-* ;D ::)

Inspired by finding this image of my perfect Telecaster. Took me on an imaginary journey to an imaginary guitar shop in an imaginary town.

It's a bit different  :o

Telecaster all the way (of course) through an Orange Tiny Terror and various pedals. Plus Fender Jazz, and a bit of slide. Garageband drums. Everything recorded and mixed on the MBR.

turn left at the lights
everything is quiet
like fallen snow without the snow
feels like a sunday morning
handshake for the dead
a dark, slow motion show

the siamese twins at the corner store go
'wooh wooh mister what are you in here for?'
but i'm just browsing
heartache dowsing
around and around and around

credit cards cash or exchange
down at Rory's guitar emporium
waiting for my soul to be saved
down at Rory's guitar emporium

they're all hanging on the wall
the gaudy and the dull
but something's gonna catch my eye
it's a fender telecaster -
maple neck and orange sparkle
cross my heart and hope to die

well i can't afford the rent
and all the rest is spent
but life is for the living, am I right?
I want to hear than twang, I want to hear that spank
with tubes hot as hell tonight

no-ones gonna prise it
out my sweaty hand
and I hope they throw a gig-bag in
it's Tele number 4
and it's hanging on the wall
I think that it's an addiction

credit cards cash or exchange
down at Rory's guitar emporium
waiting for my soul to be saved
down at Rory's guitar emporium

who's gonna be
Tele number 5
I know you're out there
gonna make you my wife

wow! some blue green stuff. Awesome loving the talking/singing vocal style. The ball has been kicked out of the park.

Wowee! You absolute funkster you! This oozes early 70s class, I can see it having one of those weird cartoons played over it on the OGWT (not sure if you're old enough to appreciate that). That Tele through the Orange sounds great, but your guitar chops really shine on this. Your electric guitar playing has progressed so much since your early days on here and it really shows on this. Just love the different rhythm tracks, the lead flourishes and the bit of slide. It's beautifully done, and of course the bass is a superb touch grooving away through this. I also love the chord changes going into the chorus and the guitar sound on the lead breaks at the end is fuzzalicious.

The vocals are great, I love the way it drops down for the spoken parts and your harmonies are spot on. And the lyrics? Brilliant song idea and imagery, anyone who puts "heartache dowsing" in a song deserves some kind of award.

Another absolute belter. Who doesn't want some of your twang and spank? I know I do.

You've got your groove on - nice, much more than nice and a big up for the gig bag!

Another stunner!

Great cool song and that guitar work is stellar; particularly love the slide. Cool lyrics too.

Groovin! As always, great recording. This particular track has cool indie vibe to it to me. Oh, and very amusing words as well. "And I hope they throw a gig bag in" ;)

This is great Tim. All of it. The guitar playing and reverby tones, the busy bass lines which i loved, and your writing, which just continues to really shine. Vocals are perfect for the tune and all i can say is Congrats...this is a very well done song!!

Tim, I listened to this two times yesterday and thought for sure I had commented on it but guess not. So I listened again today and what a cool song and Tele picture. You've laid down in reverb heaven with this one...beautiful reverb on the sparkling backing guitar!
Cool song, words and singing and a very cool picture of the Orange Sparkle Tele that has seen it's share of gigs through the years. I'm a Tele man at heart even though I don't play one that often. When I was gigging, that's all I used.....a Tele Standard and a Thinline. Excellent one for the Photo Fest!

Just brilliant! What a funky groove. The lead guitar additions on the right channel sounds so sweet and the bass line is so tasty. Excellent job on each way!

Of all the guitars that I have owned I have never had a tele Was going to pull the trigger a couple times but then a 365 or Strat would come home with me.  Love the playing on this one just gave me gas for a new guitar LOL

Nearly missed this one.  Another stunner.  Guitars are great of course, but the way you move from spoken word to singing is fabulous.

I've been told my 'first love' is my guitar (the MIM Strat from the early 90's.) I can't think of a better tribute to a guitar than this. I find myself going on an imaginary guitar shopping trip just listening to this chorus.

I have a burning question Green Man.... Do the siamese twins play a double neck?

listening on the big speaker set up with the subs....wow......
