Title: 'The Bar Where the Wild Things Are' - Maxit & Greeny

Late night, boozy Jazz-Blues.

Max sent me this beautiful piano track and mentioned it had a Tom Waits vibe - which was all the inspiration I needed. So I channeled Mr Waits and maybe some early Billy Joel too. And the 'Cheers' theme, lol. Kind of drinking poetry.

Max is one piano and I'm on vocals. I also added a dash of trumpet via Thumbjam.

Absolutely loved collaborating on this, and thanks again to Max for such superb material to work with.

whisky gravity that drags you down yet high
dark red booths like colonies on Mars
In the bar where the wild things are

well you got lots of rain
falling down inside your umbrella
and i am tearing confetti one again
from the beermats on the bar
the destructor of hearts

Mr barman you got one glass eye
but keep on pouring that whisky and rye
the quiet ones must be nursing their scars

my bite is much worse than my bark
like a box of ammo that gets a stray spark
i was the understudy now i've got the main part

A couple of real artists at work here! Max, the piano and chords are beautifully done and Tim's vocal/melody and lyric should make all of us jealous...wishing we had written them. I immensely enjoyed this song....well, well, well done!

Excellent lyrics Tim. Great imagery. The lone piano done well and fits the vocals nicely.

Lovely chords that resulted in a great collaboration. Otherworld vocal phrasing here. It's a nice reminder why I post vocal tunes so sparingly. That had a very satisfying ending as well.  Loved this.

My one niggle is I find the vocals a bit low in the mix in parts of the tune.

Dudes...what an incredible tune you have here. Wonderful piano and such a stellar lyric/vocal. Terribly impressive.

Back for another listen........it's still as impressive as the first, second and third listens. I like all the lyrics but this is a standout line for me: "and I am tearing confetti once again from the beermats on the bar"

Now, i didnt decide whether this is ALREADY a tom waits song (i'll do some research), or is a great song that we made, or is just the rain bejewelling...

Nice song with great lyrics and a cool collab. You've done very well to sing this song, Greeny - way too melodic for me to sing anything like this. Great stuff, guys; well done.

bloody biright and beautiful...and there are times Greeny when you sing that it sounds alot like ORH...up in your higher end...mostly at short times.... and a really nice job lyrically, vocally and the piano....YEAH!!!!
