Is it psychedelic, is it prog? Who knows. It has a melotron. Maybe it's a rock track with a melotron. Maybe I'm overthinking it.
When it finally gets going, it's a fairly straightforward cover of the Undertones song, purportedly John Peel's favourite.
There's no uke. Which is unusual for me lately. Drums, bass and rock organs.
And a somewhat premature ending, fitting for a song about teenage lust
Enjoy
:)
has a taste of electronica too....this is really freakin good....like wow...it just keeps building....and then pops back out....to strawberry fields.... and then to a Cars kind of vibe... super job...seemed like it was over in a flash....swirling organ is cool too....
Top-notch choice and treatment - and an excellent example of an unexpected psychedelic version of a punk-pop classic.
Loved it!
Far out man - a super trippy rendition of a classic 80s tune. Love it.

Whatever it may be I love it the build up at the start then the tempo change at 140 keeps you engaged great Job

Brilliant version Nick, really imaginative. I too love the long build up, there's some cool sounds in there and if you hadn't told me in the blurb what the song was, the vocals would have been really unexpected, so you definitely fulfilled the brief. It's psychedelic, unexpected and huge fun.
I think it's totally fucking brilliant. Such invention and daring! And the Strawberry Fields mellotron flute works great. Fine work!
QuoteIs it psychedelic, is it prog?
