Hi all, hot off the press, has this ever happened to you? Hope you enjoy. Willie
Rickenbacker 12 String, Fender Strat, Fender Precision, Various noises from GarageBand
Thought of a dozen great comments to elaborate on, lyrics, production, tones, vibe, flow, etc. but it all comes down to one simple word that says it all for me:
PERFECT!
remarkeable! really great soundscape... once again the likeness to Boston to me is quite amazing... good stuff
Fantastic, Willie. Love the song and especially dig that fine Ricky jangle.
Very nice melody. It's the kind of melody that can grow on you very easily.
:) John B
And to think you were thinking of quitting music I am so glad you did not this song is outstanding keep the jangle alive
Tim
Boston - exactly what I thought. Your sound so reminds me of Boston. Terrific song that I enjoyed so very much.
Mike
You can and constantly do, write grat songs brother. no exception here.
Rock on!
Lyrics are top shelf. Production is very good. Vocal has good heft (did you double the vocal? what vocal processing did you add? It's very good). Your vocal delivery is good, it feels wistful and sad, but the 80s guitar ballad energy of the song creates an experience that as others said, does remind me of Boston.
If I was in your band I would have wanted to take a Boston or Journey style guitar solo somewhere in there, but that wouldn't have improved things, as this one references a Boston sound without BEING that track.
Another musical reference that just came to me is Power Pop. Tommy Keene, These Are Places That Are Gone.

I would love to hear what happens to your ricky if you gain it up and go for Tommy Keene's sound in the track above, in a future musical outing.
That Rick 12 string sounds so good that now Santa needs to bring me one of those, and if he doesn't I may need to head into town on a mission to acquire some more jangle, as I haven't got enough jangle in my life.
I love this. A low-key Boston vibe in there I agree. I'm also hearing twin heroes Gerry Rafferty and Jeff Lynne watching over this excellent track. Technically and musically superb! -Johnny
Listened to this yesterday on my walk. From the opening chords, I thought Willie. You have a fantastically distinct sound in all your postings. This is a great tune, loads to enjoy about this tune.

Sparkling guitars throughout. Lovely jangliness. Super tune Willie, most enjoyable.

Nice work Willie. Great composition, lovely guitar sounds and really polished mixing and production. I really liked the string-sounding lead melodies - maybe "sounds" from Garageband or an effected guitar? A really enjoyable listen as always.
Has it ever happened to me? No, despite me wishing it had when I was younger!! :o ;D
Well done Willie, love,in the jangly guitar with your excellent vocal, really enjoyed the listen!
