Title: 'Santa Carla' - Greeny Original Instrumental

You may remember the town of Santa Carla from the 80's movie 'The Lost Boys'. This is me trying to capture the 80's vibe of that in some way. Fender Strat & Jazz plus Garageband drums all done on the MBR. The left hand guitar is recorded by the MBR mic in front of my amp.

The trouble with Santa Carla - too many darn vampires! What a great film.

Did you remind me of the era of highlighted mullets, incredibly loud shirts, stupid trousers and chorusy guitars? Well to some degree but fortunately there wasn't really enough cheese here. Excellent guitar melodies and cool guitar sounds (which do have an 80s vibe) and as always lovely contrapuntal bass lines. Recording guitar with the MBR mike worked well IMO.

Loved it, just shows you can have a killer Greeny track without razor-sharp lyrics and vocals....

Nice piece. I especially like the bass work. Great playing, in general.

A trip back to 1988, and Keifer Sutherland frightening us all. That movie had such an impact on us.
Love the instrumental Tim. Amazing what you and others can do with the little silver box. Great playing and I  couldn't help but notice the great bassline as well.

love it, the lead is reminiscent of the sound you used on "kicking the habit" by Jemima's Kite.

I keep looking over my shoulder for Vampires.......a fine instrumental Tim! I've always enjoyed your bass line as many here have mentioned. You go at it as a sort of lead instrument which takes you to good places not normally gone with a bass. The phasey guitar is perfect for the era sound. Well done!

You can always rely on your music to be something a bit special and very well performed , i have always enjoyed your compositions and vocals , this just has that vibe from that era , with the chorus effect on the guitars which you dont here very much these days , its sounds really cool and very easy on the ear , you have introduced some super chord changes which add feel and aspect to the Instrumental .

Great stuff Greeny enjoyed it and the memories from the 80,s that came back to me

It is apparent to me that when Greeny plays people pay attention!  And it is also apparent that that is for good reason!  What I hear here is a very laid back Rush type intrumental...and for me that is quite perfect... obviously there is no NP here but I would say the sounds and playing of the guitars (bass included) are great!  I downloaded this so I can listen more studiously....

Love this. Definitely got soundtrack appeal that needs a video to go with it. Lovely spacey guitars, a great interesting bass line and what an excellent tone on that lead. Everything played, recorded & mixed so well.

Great instrumental, Tim. I got a strong Smiths vibe, the ghost of Johnny Marr on lead guitar...

Cool ethereal vibe on this!

Great insrumental... damn this fest has been great so far. This really evolves as it plays and takes you to places you weren't expecting. Love the sound you got from those guitars.

That's a cool, laid back guitar attack. Enough grit and drive to keep it on a slow burn but not enough to ruin the feeling.
