I finally solved the connecting problem, but there's weird stuff happening now.
I'll try to put this as succinctly as I can.
I can transfer MP3 backing tracks to the card ok, into the MP3 folder, and they are there because I can click on them when still connected to the PC, and they play.
None of them show up when I select "utility" --"SNG" --"SEL", as it used to. It only shows 01:song0000. It like there's nothing on the card.
I have tried 3 different cards, including the original BOSS one with the demo track on it. That original track --Big Dance-- stills plays ok.
I also tried putting the backers onto that original card, it still shows 4 songs but there's nothing on them.
I have tried initialising the cards, and the unit, back to factory settings, but no luck there either.
Am I doing something really stupid ( which is not completely unknown ;D ;D ) or has something gone drastically wrong and I need to replace it?
Any thoughts welcome.
Cheers.
Steve.
Oh, one more thing. The tracks are there when I press MP3/Trainer.
I must be doing something wrong along the way somewhere????
Hi Stevie
I gave my MBR away so I don't have it to hand.
From what I remember you have to import the files you upload onto the MBR into songs, there is an import option somewhere in the menu structure and it will ask you which Vtrack to import to.
If you're still stuck I'm sure that ORH, Greeny or failing them 64Guitars will have the answer.
All I can say is Oh Bugger!!!!
It's been so long since i did any of this I completely forgot about having to do that :-[
Told you it was probably something stupid I was doing ----or not doing.
Thanks again Flash Harry :D
Cheers.
if you just want to play the mp3. you need to hit the butten 3 rd from bottom left, to change it from recording mode to mp3. not sure what button is called as my microbr is so old , lettering has been removed.
if you want to record over the mp3.
press utility, then trk, then the cursor button directly under the utility button, then imp, then use the cursor to select mp3 you want to importthen using the +value button keep clicking to import to TR12V2. and hit tim. this will import your mp3 to the song folder and will be to two tracks so will be in stereo. remember to pan tracks 1 and 2 full left and right for full stereo. hope that is of help.
What James says.
Hit TIM? Lol

Hit TIM? Lol
I think he meant 'Hit Jim'
Thanks James and Tim.
Update.
I went through and imported all the backers, as I remembered I used to, and had partial success.
The one i just imported was on there as a SONG ok, but only that one. Song Select was still only just on 01 and won't change.
I'm sure that before I had all the backing tracks on SONG and could just scroll through, Numbers 01,02, 03 etc and they were all imported tracks ready to play over. I could be mistaken though?
If it is separate backers you should create separate song folders to import to. If you are importing individual tracks. For example mono bass, mono drum tracks, you can import them to individual tracks using the above described method. But using the tr1v1 for first track tr2v1 for second track etc
Yep, seperate backers,I thought that was what was I doing when I imported, as I went through each one I changed the number, so they should all have been seperate songs?
I'm obviously still missing something somewhere.
I hate it that I can't remember something so simple!!
I blame getting old :)
I might see if I can do a video as I go through it, then maybe you'll see where I'm going wrong?
Won't be for a day or two though.
Looks like you have been sending separate backers to separate tracks within one song
1) Copy mp3 files into the BR's "MP3" folder. (http://lib.roland.co.jp/manual/en/dl_06-12733/MICRO-BR_e3.pdf#G13.1074583)
2) Create a new song (http://lib.roland.co.jp/manual/en/dl_06-12733/MICRO-BR_e3.pdf#G7.1055792) for each mp3 file.
3) Select the song (http://lib.roland.co.jp/manual/en/dl_06-12733/MICRO-BR_e3.pdf#G7.1057332) into which you wish to import a particular mp3 file.
4) Import the mp3 file (http://lib.roland.co.jp/manual/en/dl_06-12733/MICRO-BR_e3.pdf#G14.1069336) into the currently-selected song.
5) Repeat steps 3 and 4 for each mp3 file.
Thanks 64 Guitars, and everyone else.
Finally cracked it :D
I hate how I had completely forgotten how to do that. Partly since it was so long ago I did it, but also partly, I think, because I had a weird stroke type of thing about 5 years or so ago. Quite a lot of stuff takes a while to come back when I start to do it again.
Thanks again for your patience everyone.
There will probably be more questions about easy basic stuff to come ;D
Cheers.
