Title: micro BR and windows 10
Post by: StevieM on April 14, 2020, 09:17:45 AM
Hi everyone.
I've not been on here for a long long time.
Does anyone know if the Micro BR is supported in Windows 10?
I haven't been playing at all for quite a long time, but starting to get back into it now. I'm trying to change and update the backing tracks but it won't get past the USB connecting stage.
Any ideas?
Cheers.
Steve.

Hi Stevie, nice to see you around.

As far as I know it will appear as a USB drive in Windows 10 like it did on Windows 7 and XP.

An alternative is to put the SD card into a separate card reader, you will be able to find the files in there.

Have you used BRWC - the BR Wave Converter, there's a link to it here: https://songcrafters.org/64guitars/BR/Software.html (https://songcrafters.org/64guitars/BR/Software.html)

You can use this to export your WAV files from the individual song tracks, either from the BR or from the SD card directly.

If you're not seeing the BR appear as a drive it could be that the SD card is unformatted or the USB cable is faulty - I have had both occur inthe past.

Good luck.

Hiya Flash.
It's good to be back, I might even stick around for a while :)
Thanks, got it sorted now. I tried all sorts of things, loading directly on to the card with a card reader ( the tracks went on there ok, but wouldn't read on the BR), iformatted the card and everything.
Finally it seems to have worked after the 4th usb cable i tried.

All I've got to do now is remember how to do all the rest of the stuff ------like playing, recording, etc etc etc!!! ;D ;D ;D

I have no problem using the Micro BR with Win 10, but admit I simply pop the SD card and put that into a reader. I have continued to use the great Micro BR utilities: BR Explorer, BR Song Librarian, Micro BR Patch Documenter, and Micro BR Effect Manager. These all work, but do run with an annoying error message to start with. Maybe someone has insight on that.
