Title: This Green and Pleasant Land by Oldrottenhead Live in the Living Room
Post by: Oldrottenhead on September 07, 2019, 01:43:33 PM
I may have invented my own new tuning cccegc. Can't find a reference to this tuning anywhere.

Anyway it is what it is.
I don't believe
What you believe
You might be right
I might be wrong
Never the twain
Will we ever meet
Never again
Will we agree

Your tribal concerns
And the past that you yearn
Did it ever exist
This green pleasant land?

What we believe
Facts can't prove
You go your way
And I will go mine
Burning our bridges
Leave it all behind
Never again
For all time

Your tribal concerns
And the past that you yearn
Did it ever exist
This green pleasant land?

Excellent song and sentiment and if they build any more houses where I live the green and pleasant land will be a distant memory.     Willie

That's a great tuning - at times it resonated like a synth drone. Timely lyrics, too.

Top-notch stuff.

Very minimalistic guitar part, but it works well with your voice. I like this!

I know nothing of alternate tunings but I do like open strings and droney chords. This tuning created a nice creamy feel to the song and your vox float nicely over the top.

A poignant song about the divisions we face and that are unlikely to go away any time soon.

You have captured a very warm and earthy sound on the your acoustic ORH.....it takes a thumb strum for me to get a similar sound. Did you use your thumb? However you got it keep on using it because it sounds great. I think your words are very universal at the moment. Fine vox as well!

I struggle with plectrums, so always use my thumb, am an inveterate thumb strummer. so much so my thumb on my right hand sort of tapers of toward the tip lol.
