Post by: Jean Pierre on September 02, 2019, 08:02:31 AM
A classic minor blues by BB King

NEW MIX AND NEW MASTERING 2023, in my last message/////////////////////////////////////////

https://songcrafters.org/forum/index.php?topic=28969.msg406839#msg406839

I had fun remixing this version with my new Reaper configuration
all guitars and JP vocals
Bass, piano, drums, BIAB
...may be a personal bass track when I build my Harley Benton Precision Bass

...I'll stick my own bass line to it ;)

Great job, I know the original so I can say this is a very good cover, you are a very versatile musician my friend.   Willie

Great job here, superb playing and really nice guitar work. However, I especially liked the way you sang and recorded the vocals, very well handled indeed. They sit really nicely in the mix.

A fantastic take on a classic number. I enjoyed this a lot, some lovely lead in there - with a great mellow tone.

(Good luck with the HB Bass project!)

BUMP, especially for Zoltan and Stephen who may not have heard it...in 2019

it's another BB King song

and there's this funny photo (which I'd completely forgotten about) of my Harley Benton clone telecaster, a guitar that I'm happy with, and even more, at a ridiculously low price.

rectification no in fact here the model is that of my Harley Benton clone Precision bass
..but the comment also applies to this guitar  ;)

What an excellent piece of work.
That guitar tone is beautiful.
Absolutely fantastic.
What guitar did you use for the lead?
Bravo.

Thank you all guys, and Kenny Mac

I had done this in 2019 and following a new, recent BB King cover (Merry Christmas Blues), and the bump I made of this cover Thrill is gone, also by BB King,..and following Kenny's comment,
...I listened to this cover again and decided to redo the Fx instruments (guitars, drums, bass and vocals) with new mastering

...I think you get better with time and recording practice (at least I think you do) and so I'm offering you a new mix and mastering

Here

I've added a lot of wav plug ins
CLA Drums
CLA Bass
L1+ultramaximiser stereo on vocals

Guitar rig 6 on guitars

and mastering

SSL compressor stereo wav
PUIG tec EQP 1 A wav
RS 56 stereo Wav

The thrill is gone once you got mastering with Reaper. I know it can be a dog, but just persevere...

Sorry :D Just couldn't resist...

Seems like JP has become the resident bluesman here. I'm quite happy about that because he always manages to throw in some real personality into his playing. And that smoky vocal! That must have been a fistful of gitanes.

Cool one JP!
