A wee three chorder for the strangerfest. Drums, bass, guitar and a dry vocal.
Back in the day i was retail manager for a frozen food company, job took me all over the UK, so whenever i turned up in a new town the locals where eager to show me the "nightlife". Probably a few more songs could be mined from that vein, in fact i should write a book.
Drums done in Garageband, then added bass line using epiphone bass, then HB tele for two strummed tracks. Vocals where recorded dry with no effects using a sennheiser e818s11 mic, then i added some fumbling lead with the hb tele. was planning to add keys and backing vox but i liked how organic and raw it felt so mastered with no bounces.
Anyway it is what it is.

Very, very nice, James.
The dry vocals are a bonus expecially, IMO this way I concentrate better on the lyrics, but anyway a great song "in itself".

Really love the bass on this, and I've been on trips like this before. Dry vocal is great, and your guitar solo(s) sound perfectly fine to my ear. A real belter!
Catchy one. Listened to this yesterday and now this sounds even more catchy! Nice job on each way. The tone on solo guitar sounds so good!
Well done!
Brilliant song, and as everybody else has said the dry vocals are stunningly clear. The guitar solos are perfect for the song.
Nice one James, Really well done...
Alex
Great tune... that solo additions are great. The tune rolls along really well - really enjoyed that.
It's bloody brilliant James, honest and quite raw.
the music and vocals fit the lyrics really well. Your lead break is bang on.
Nice one James, I like the vibe of it.
Cool lead break too
Magic.
Great live feel, loving the dry vocal which gives it real edge and that old ephi bass still banging out a tune.
I have poems written long ago about lost evenings. This brings back so many memories. The feel of this song recalls the seeking out a place to hang out for an evening. So many pubs, so many searches for the one that feels right for that night.
I feel there's a disturbing punchline to the song. C'mon, what the hell really happened?
Always love your singing, James. The lead guitar moments were very nice as well.
I expect sequels.
Blooby
Your voice sounds great James, a rest must have done you well. This is a good tune. Wish I could do what you can do brother.
Glad you're back.
