Title: Songcrafters' Places
Post by: alfstone on March 18, 2019, 03:31:04 PM
The idea of this thread came to me looking at the videos in JP's song, here:

https://songcrafters.org/forum/index.php?topic=28662.0

...so, I was thinking, what about sharing videos about the places where we live? After all, it's a better way to "introduce"  us...  :)

I begin (of course...). I live in Palermo, Sicily. Lots and lots of videos about Palermo in the web, so probably an introduction by a NON-Sicilian is more appropiate:

"Your" places are welcome!  :)

Great idea Alfredo - it's really interesting to see where other Songcrafters live. Such different places but we all share a common love of music.

Following publication of my video illustrating my cover of a composition by Baden Powell and following Alfredo's reflection,
I propose this new topic: Where do you live? It would be a question of depositing a small video with a personal music cover or original music

...it's interesting to see the place in the world where SC people live...

This could be the subject of a new topic: where do you live? with a short video illustrating a cover or original music

...I have no doubt that Alfredo is the idea of offering us some joyful images of Palermo illustrating one of these musical productions

I propose this new topic in general discussion ;)

We have the same idea in the same time with Alfredo ...but apparently my message didn't register........ minds meet each other!  :)

it's a great idea and I hope more videos will follow.

I live in a small valley in the interior of British Columbia, the western most province of Canada,  the region of British Columbia where I live, is known as the Okanagan. My town is called Armstrong and there are about 5000 people in town.  We have churches,  a good sushi place, a library, friendly town folk.   The nearest hospital and major shopping is in a town 20 kilometers away.  We have some Carmelite nuns living just outside town and they keep Alpacas. When people ask why I moved here, I say, because of Nuns with Alpacas.   They look at me funny, which is how I like it.

Greetings from Finland! The country of the thousands of lakes. We live with Kari at Harjavalta. By the river of Kokemäki. Some songcrafters came to visit here 2017 when we had Nordic Met (https://songcrafters.org/forum/index.php?action=festival;sa=NordicMET2017) here. It was spring then but now we are waiting for winter and hoping there will be lots of snow. So we can go to ski! We love winter. Soon we have a Independence Day (6.12.) So I want you to hear Finlandia Hymn from Jean Sibelius and see some beautiful pictures of our country. Hope you are all safe.

Alfredo, I really enjoyed watching the video on Palermo... incredibly interesting although I must admit about 12 minutes in I had to take a break and go find food... this made me hungry... actually I was hungry and this made me realize it.  I loved seeing the architechture and hearing about the people and culture and history.

..as,  following an invraissenblable accusation of depositing pornographic contents ( eh, what! me? )You TUbe has purely and simply deleted my channel!

impossible to get my good faith recognized, so I recreated a new channel (jpgirbon) and I try to re-post my videos, as I find some of them on my hard disks...including this one, which I like, at the origin of the thread of the friend Alfstone

So JP is in France, more precisely in Savoie (Mont Blanc..), near the Bourget lake, a nice place
