You've got a good voice - nice folk tune!
Nice! I've never heard this song before and have been meaning track it down ever since someone told me about it when they heard me perform Anarchist Heart (https://songcrafters.org/forum/micro-br-b65/%27anarchist-heart%27-original-song/) for a songwriters group.
Perfect all around - Never heard this song before, either. The playing and the vox sound great!!

Mark
Well, I do remember this one, sadly I was there first time round. A bit too young to remember the first playing but my older brother was a folkie who played lots of Donovan so listened to him playing it a year or so after it was first released.
You did a nice job here - can't believe this is the same guy that did the vox on John Barleycorn! You have a nice gentle vocal here, you have great control in your voice. Good stuff.
Cheers,
Nigel
QuoteWell, I do remember this one, sadly I was there first time round.
me too i can vaguely remember donovan having his own show on primetime saturday night on bbc.
robert excellent post, a great song well done. with a name like robert burns you must be like myself and donovan ... scottish..... no?
I have to say no also------a Brummie born and bred and proud of it and found out recently i have Irish roots-- my dad though was in the Black Watch--- i'm now a plastic Southerner living in Surrey

You most certainly have a versatile voice!!! This is a great version of that classic protest song! Great playing and great playing.
Thanx for another great performance!
BTW:
Don't know what you don't like in the recording of the vox, but I find that the closer you get the better, I usually hold it just a few inches away, tilting it 45ยค and singing over it to aviod breathing straight into the mic.
I do rembember this, although I don't know if I remember it from it's first release date. You've done a good version, and it's nice to hear some Donovan without Donovan telling us how good he is or how brilliant his latest book/record/recipe is, which I do find irritating.
Good track.
Ah what a good tune! It sounds so natural, If I had listened to this in some other ocasion, I would think it was from some famous folk singer.
Really liked it!
Cheers
You sound wonderful. Don't remember the song, but you have done excellent!! Must be better than the original. Great singing and playing.
Really great version, no kidding, it sounds like it was recorded live from the stage.
Great cover - beautifully played and sung, and a perfect example of why direct simplicity works over big productions sometimes. Donovan is one of my greatest musical heroes and influences, so it was good to hear this! I'll get round to covering Season of the Witch oneday. Great work!!!!
Great production!!! love the guitar and vox!!!!
JIM
Wonderful Thanks fm93...I've not heard this for 30+years It really takes me back
WOW 2 tracks..... WoW great job!
Self Bump for the protest songs
Robbie Burns
Class track - I'd forgotten about this one - nice one

A bump for Rob. What a golden voice.
What a great recording! The guitar has just the right feel. The vocal is exactly what it should be. This is the way I remember hearing the old folk songs. If you'd put a little scratch and pop in there, I'd think I was sitting back in the living room singing along with the family.
Yes, I remember this song. I might be able to find the LP in my mother's house. My father never let them go.
Thanks for the bump, Bruce.
Love this one, Great Bump Blooby......
