Title: "You Say" live in the living room
Post by: Blooby on February 14, 2019, 05:53:31 PM

Lurker, EWC, and I got together a few weeks back where we wrote a little and drank a lot. This poppy something or other spilled out along with a few other germs. The Electric MoO then got together for a practice last Thursday and fleshed it out into this for-the-moment arrangement. Everett (EWC) is on all leads. Hopefully, Lurker will unlurk and post his lyrics. A rough mix live in the living room with a few gaffs for good measure.

Nothing wrong with poppy rock...I like this Blooby and crew! Your rhythm has a cool Joe Walsh tone and phrasing to it. The lead interlude pull back works well and I like the way it all swells back to the main volume and drive. Excellent vocal and lyric...icing on the cake. Nice one guys!

A killer riff right from the start! A real pro performance by all of you. "Silent" solo works well!

Great job and fine tune!

What?  I lurk?  How else will I live up to my handle?

I don't have much to say.  I'm to busy grading papers and responding to helicopter parents.

Here are the words you seek.  Thank the Lord and Lion Rampant for good Scotch Whisky.

You say you're lonely   then shut in
I'd like to sit beside you       away from the din
That can't happen         til you let me in

You say you feel empty      then push away
Rejecting every offer              anyone makes
Walking in shadows              day after day

You say you need a change   but you won't try
Continuing the patterns      of a sad life
I can't be your difference      your when or why

You say you feel trapped      but won't step out
Wallowing in sadness              fear and doubt
Latching on to problems      you know nothing about

Open up your mind              set it free
Only you can decide              what to be
That can't happen         until you see
That won't happen         til you join me

Very cool. I really like the riff and the bounce to it. Great performance off the floor. Locked in.

I would pay to see you guys. As long as I can sleep on your couch after the show. Seriously, I love this recording - You do live music so well!

Poppy rock  or rocky Pop..... It is indeed... a smoker.
Draws you in from beginning to end.

Love the arrangement. The drum and guitar work is brilliant.

The groove is infectous and melds perfectly with the vocals.

What a great song.  Laid back and tasteful.  I think this is a real winner.
