First of all- holy shit, I remembered my password! Got it on the 2nd try!
Hey guys! It's been too long...
Just checking if there is an app for this site or a mobile version available. I don't really get much access to a desktop these days & I'm constantly on my iPhone. It would be a lot easier for me to keep up & navigate, etc...Just checking.
Thanks🎸
Welcome back Kody.
There's no app. I don't see what benefit an app would be. The only app you need is a web browser and I assume that every mobile phone comes with one or two. However, I've never owned a mobile phone or any other mobile device, so maybe I'm missing something?
I know that many of our members access Songcrafters regularly from a mobile phone, so maybe it's a matter of configuring your phone and/or its web browser for the best view of the site. Hopefully, some of the iphone users here can advise you how to do that.
Thanks for the response.
I'm curious to see if others know a way to configure the iphone's settings to give the site a more formatted look on the mobile device. Also, it seems some functionality that I know is there on the desktop just isn't on my phone...such as scrolling down in juke boxes. And the need to zoom way in to read anything. I really don't want to sound like I'm bashing the site, please don't take it that way. It's completely me just trying to make it more convenient for myself. I love this place! Glad to see some old familiar names are still invested here. You all have inspired me throughout the years more than you'll ever know.
Kody, test out several different browsers on the iPhone. Some work fairly good and others are mostly a pain in the butt.
As you may already have discovered, streaming music from this site usually crashes before the song completes. That is because Apple products do not support Flash Player.
The only way MP3 files work properly is when you load them directly onto the iphone or iPad.
And still no mini USB port that would simplify loading files onto the device. Not the easiest-to-use phone/tablet on the market.
I'm also accessing the site almost entirely through my iPhone and I definitely would like there to be a mobile app. I was hoping that the changes to the site before Christmas would have made it more mobile friendly but I actually find it less friendly than before on iOS. And I don't visit the site as much as a result, which is a shame because I love this community.

No I agree, there's much that I don't like about my phone and iOS, but it's the only option for making music for me.
ODH, with the exception of some apps that can be used to create sound effects, there is nothing on the iPhone or iPad
I find useful for creating and editing music tracks. In my opinion, an expensive paperweight when it comes to creativity.
This is the reason I switched back to an android phone. I ha e my ipad for my music apps which are amazing but the android works like a charm on songcrafters. Sorry if this isn't helpful.
Rock on!
Thanks for chiming in guys. Although it's not super user friendly to navigate this site on an iPhone, it is manageable. I'm typing this on my iPhone currently. I love this phone for everything else...works great for a lot of apps & getting into political arguments on Twitter🙄 And oh yeah, it works as a phone too. I'm working on getting a desktop set up at my home so I'll be able to upload songs and all that Jazz a lot easier, but when I'm on the go, I can check this site on my phone..✌🏼
I must be very lucky. I look at the site almost always on either my MacBook Pro or my iMac and almost never have any problems either with how it looks or with functionality of songs.
I've really struggled this week because I've just had my phone and the songs from this site only play for a bit and then go back to the beginning. I have tried different browers. Tried downloading them - they still wouldn't play all the way through.
Found the songs on a different site in the end and they played no problem.
Just browsing the site for the first time on a mobile phone or "smartphone". It's an iPhone, seems to work really well. A little bit of scrolling and zooming in and out, but is that not kinda normal. Doesn't bother me at all. Songs seem like they are playing fine too.
Coding a app would be bloody time consuming. You may want to have a songcrafters jukebox app. The advantage of an app is its can be state full (rather than stateless, which browser are - which is why they use cookies), and can integrate better with the phone itself (i.e. the raw processing power). You'd have to write the app (and maintain it) for each eco system (IOS and Android) - which would be a ball ache. I guess it would decouple songcrafters from browser upgrades, which can cause problems? Although I'm with 64G on this one, I'm not sure what features it could give that you couldn't do with a browser. But it would be cool though!
