Title: Boss Micro BR - is there a way to replace preset drum patterns?
Post by: Oldbear on December 01, 2017, 10:15:10 AM
My only gripes with the MBR are that .I cannot write my own drum patterns - I would love to create a sticks intro and a big cymbal/Tom outtro. ...any tips very welcome!

I don't think you can but you could on the BR900 which is a great unit if you could find one on eBay. Maybe the 800?

If by "sticks intro" you mean a simple count-in like a drummer would do by tapping his sticks together, you can get something similar from one of the presets (though it uses a closed hi-hat instead of sticks). Pattern P265:Cnty1 has 4 hits on the closed hi-hat in measure 1. The pattern is actually 2 measures long and contains other drum/cymbal sounds in the second measure, but you can set the step length of your arrangement to 1 so that the 2nd measure doesn't play.
