It is one of my favorite song of Crosby
It was not easy to cover because a strange tuning (EBDGAD) and many change of metrique measure (4/4, 3/4, 7/4)
David Crosby said about this song:
"That is a very unusual song, it's in a very strange tuning with strange time signatures. It's about three women that I loved. One of whom was Christine Hinton, the girl who got killed who was my girlfriend, and one of whom was Joni Mitchell and the other one is somebody that I can't tell. It might be my best song."
This is a version without the last verse because too loud to enter in attachment...
thank you for listening
Ps harmonica diatonic in G ( minor relative Em..)
Still in Wales, trouble getting it to play, will try tomorrow...
Alex
i remember seeing David Crosby and Graham Nash doing this on a BBC in concert show, when i was a young un, and it blew my mind.
this is an absolutely fabulous version, be very very proud it is tres braw!
This is a super, fantastic cover of Guenevere! I've listened (and still do) to this song many times and you have captured the very essence of it with the guitar tuning and vocals. It's not an easy song to cover but you've done it well. I always wondered what the tuning was.....now I know, thanks!
Farrell
Wow. Great version of one of my favorite tunes from this band. Really stellar.
Blooby

Yes, I have seen it on YT,... for my cover ,I was inspired by the version at San FRancisco in 1992, in this version Nash sing and play harmonica in the intro: the first difficulty for wwas to finf the tone of diatonic harmonica ??
FinallyI used Harmonica in G because the tonality of song is Em(minor relative of G)
...but I am not sure that is the good choice ! ;D

Yes it s a strange tuning EBDGAD !?!Open tuning in Em 11 ???
Most great difficulty, which I had under estimated, was to play the chords picking ,not so much for the positions of chords left hand but because of the picking right hand of Crosby very very personal
I am not Crosby, I am not Nash, I am not a singer, just a little old oficionado ;D (and I am not a good speaker in english ::)
Got it to play at last, and well worth the wait, well done JP,
Great cover....
Alex
Not familiar with the original, but I love what you've created here, JP! Never come across that tuning before. Highly unorthodox, but it works brilliantly!
Great job with this hauntingly beautiful song... and with it's wacky alternate tuning!
Really nice guitar tones, vocal harmonies and love the harmonica. ;)
I don't know the original, but it's a very sensitive vocals and playing
Very beautyful
Jean-Sébastien
Steelguitar,
if you don't know the original You must absolutely listen to this version by Crosby and Nash, which I am (modestly) inspired (I'm not really a singer ..)

fantastic !!!! my fave CS&N tune ...you did an amazing version
Auto bump for this beautiful song..
I just discovered the 2012 version of Guennevere by BoneonBone, a version that had escaped me, it is true that in 2012 I was not yet in the Songcrafter confederation
Very nice version of BoneonBone! He played it in DADGAD and the voices are perfect
I allow myself to do an auto bump on my version in 2017, I did it in the original Crosby EADGAD tuning, not very common, and with a little harmonica
This magnificent song deserves to be back at the top of the gondola
So ethereal, beautiful and relaxing! Amazing job, JP! Missed this earlier...
This has real soul and depth JP. It's hard to know how to comment on this one as it's just really really lovely.
Fantastic
Mike
Thanks Mike and Redler,
I always liked this song a lot, and playing it with Grosby's original tuning was a little challenge
Here is a short explanation about this tuning

BUMP....because I love too this song :)
BUMP for Blueberry because I don't know if he had listened to my version, different with the original tuning of the song which is EADGAD
I had of course listened to the version of Boneonbone which is splendid.
I also love this song for the guitar part and for the great vocals.
Thanks, I haven't heard this one....really beautifully done....I shall give this multiple listens

of course i like this song quite a bit...but i really like Crosby, STills, and Nash... and Young too....
you put everything into your efforts of music... I have a great appreciation for that... keep up the good work.... I would give you a big brotherly hug if I could!
Merci Blue berry
QuoteJe vous ferais un gros câlin fraternel si je le pouvais!

bump ...because I love too much this song
it's a fantastic recording JP... very detailed and not easy either
I have just learned of the death of David Crosby
RIP
I bring up this song that I had covered by David, probably one of his most beautiful compositions
Very well played and sung. Pretty song, indeed.
RIP David.
