Hello All,
Haven't been around in a long time, kind of went off the recording thing for a while, everything I was doing started to sound the same and got pretty boring for me, so took a break.
weve started a local pub/guitar get together which has rekindled my interest, that said its still the same old stuff that ends up on the BR, I need to listen to different music.
This ones an Allison Moorer song, she's my current fav (and looking as good as she does makes it all the better)
I watch/listen to her singing Carrickfergus just about every day, if your into the "perfect ballad" i would highly recomend a watch/listen.
Anyway this ones called "A Soft Place To Fall" as usual its the lyrics that draw me into a song, this one fitted that bill for me
Cheers
Ronnie
Very nice ballad, wonderful delivery and performance.
I thoroughly enjoyed this.
Rock on!
Beautiful performance and recording, Ronnie. It's so good to hear your voice and guitar playing again. It's been too long. I hope we can look forward to more from you in the near future.
What did you use for the strings? They sound great. And did I hear some female vocals in there? Who was that?

I love Charlotte Church's version of Carrickfergus (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaBcUmbf0zQ) and listen to it frequently. I just checked out Allison Moyer's version on You Tube and it's quite good too.
very neautiful song tank you for theshare
How do you do the layer violin in your backtrack ?
Beautiful Ronnie, Just beautiful,
So good to have you back...
Alex
Beautiful! This is so well performed!
The violin sounds so good on the background!
The violins were created in the Thumbjam App on my iPad.
I recorded basically the same thing twice but an octave apart.
I'm not that good on the app so limit myself to playing only in one octave at a time, if that makes sense.
I do most of my mixing on the PC in a very old version of Adobe Audition. The two violin tracks were panned slightly left and slighty right. (cant remember how much, just till it sounds ok on my speakers).
Apart from panning All the tracks get basically the same treatment in Audition, thats is I add what they call studio reverb, I like the fact that audition gives simple options for reverb, dependant on the instrument, again I play with them till I think it sounds ok. Of course you can dig deeper and change many things, but Idont understand all that so keep it simple.
The female harmony is from the BR800.
Thanks for listening and the comments much appreciated
Cheers
Ronnie
