Title: "More Than Wood" a Hook original

After I posted "Behind Blue Eyes" this morning I grabbed my Tres and this came very quickly on the back porch. LITLR, BR80, Cuban Tres, Rocking Chair & some birds.
More Than Wood
written & performed by Hook
I'm just so happy to see

Only time will tell
 if our little ship will Sail
and if it does
 where the wind will steer

Twist and turn
the river flows
the current pulls
the undertow
catches hold and shake this good
but this canoe for two
is made of much more than wood

There will always be times
when waters run dry
we're forced to Portage across
The weight of our gear
will test our Union
I fear we've weathered storms before
we'll weather many more

Very nice Hook...the Tres sounds very alive! I like the "open to interpretation" as your lyric unfolds. Very poetic and up there with your best.

Fantastic feel here...beautiful vocals and real nice touch on guitar!

The vibe of this song perfectly matched the lyrics. That's not an easy thing to do.

Great lyrics,there are so many great lyrics coming out on the site lately .
Your musicianship is startling and you have the gift to easily get great stuff from many instruments.

You really can turn on a sixpence... just listened to your mad version of Behind Blue Eyes, then I come across this beautiful, heartfelt, touching song. Talk about a contrast! Superb stuff, mate!

I appreciate the beauty of this song even more after this new listen.
Glad Stephen bumped it because as he said it is comforting to hear hooks voice on the site again.
The message this sends to me is never under estimate what your music means to people ,you don't need an audience of a million.
We on songcrafters are lucky.
Over the years it has helped many people.
I look forward to many more coming from hook.
As well as being a great guy he is an incredible musician.
This tune is so relaxing.

So lovely and contemplative, and the bird twittering noises in the background are the perfect small but complementary production touch. Simply beautiful.
