Not sure what we've got here. John came over, and I was heck-bent on creating a song from the ground up. We had the bed track down quickly after I jammed on the main riff and John sequestered himself and mentally flagellated until lyrics poured forth. Never pretty but effective.
But I digress...
John then dashed off his BG vocals pretty quickly, and I threw down a quick solo, but then I got all freaky about the mix. Totally insecure about drum levels (and other merriment), but this is what we have for now. Oddball but I like it.

No Turning Back
It's cold I'm tired
Wondering if I'll make it to the end of this road
I'm so uninspired
I'm ready to quit but there's just too far to go
Hoping that the place I reach Is better than the one I left
Following a promise that I can't afford to second guess
There's no spare tire
What I'm running on now has got to get me through
I'm down to bare wires
There's not enough left to even blow a fuse
Trying to find the home that I heard about in my dreams
Hoping when I reach it my trust will be redeemed
Down this road there'll be no turning back
(Cold and tired Uninspired)
Down this road there'll be no turning back
(No spare tire Dread the fire)
Down this road there'll be no turning back
(End of the road Too far to go)
Going this way to avoid a beaten track
(In my dreams Be redeemed)
What I can't carry has all been left behind
Hopefully soon I'll know whether that includes my mind
I'm on the pyre
Wood stacked neatly and the tinder placed
I dread the fire
If this journey goes wrong flames will be my fate
Gotta keep moving or my feet'll settle in the mire
(Cold and tired Uninspired)
Driven away from what my heart had once desired
(No spare tire Dread the fire)
Taking this way to avoid a beaten track
(End of the road Too far to go)
Where I'm going now there'll be no turning back
(In my dreams Be redeemed)
I look forward to seeing a song by you two, I know I am going to be in for a treat , and you did not disappoint me,

On my walk into the village to get croissants and pain aux raisins for breakfast for the household, listening to my songcrafters buddies. Was struck by the great sounding guitars - which amp and pedal did you use for this - this sounds great. Lurkers vocals are always sublime - loved the backing vox - super stuff. Drums/mix seemed to be okay to me, the bass was a little indistinct, but that could be the earbuds and listening on the blackberry outside.
Great stuff gents, more please.

Fantastic song gents!! This is so well written and arranged.
Loved the "silent" spots on the chorus. The widely panned backing vocals sound very good and catchy!
I'm speechless! This goes onto my mp3-player now.

Badass! Love those lyrics and the background! Riffaliociousness!

Oh yeah, great sound and it does the "Free" feel about it and that can only be good. Willie
You guys are awesome. That was my first thought so I figured I would just leave it at that! Real music (And not oddball to me at all) that can just be played by the listener and fully enjoyed. Hell yeah!
Really enjoyed that. I can also hear the free connection. The mix is excellent and well balanced to my ears. Great work.
