Title: Hi from San Diego!
Post by: Saijinn Maas on April 29, 2009, 10:03:08 AM
Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.

I'm a guitar player from San Diego, been playing for 25 years, but only seriously the last 3 years.

Been reading through this site for the last few weeks and it was ultimately the reason I finally bit the bullet and purchased a Micro BR. UPS says it should arrive tomorrow, and I honestly have to say I am about a excited as when I buy a new guitar! ;)

Hopefully, it won't take long for me to get a handle on it and start posting some tunes. :)

Wow... Can't believe I've had the MBR for four months already. How time flies!!!

Well, here are the songs I've posted. Some original, a couple of collaborations, some over backers for the challenges.

Welcome from London! You're going to have a ball. Just figure out the basics and the rest will follow naturally. San Diego is a great city... I've enjoyed a few frozen margaritas in SD old town  :D

That is a real good idea putting all your songs in one spot like this.  Maybe we should all do something like this, Nice one, you have been busy haven't you.

It is a great idea to include links to your work in an intro post. Another good method is the mp3 jukebox that 64Guitars introduced - I was thinking that would be cool to be able to embed one of those right in a post, but I forgot that it can't be done at the moment:

It's actually just a different version of the MP3 player that the site is already using.

http://flash-mp3-player.net/ (http://flash-mp3-player.net/)

However, you'll need to create an HTML page to use it. There's currently no way to embed the "Multi" version of the MP3 player in a message here. I sent Pedro a PM a month ago, asking if he could make this Multi player available in messages, but I didn't get a reply. I think it would be great if each member had the option of creating a message under "General Discussion/Introduce Yourself!" that included the Multi version of the MP3 player. They could include all of their posted songs in the player. Then, each time they post a new song, they could edit their "Introduce Yourself" message to add the new song to the player. What do you think, Pedro? Is this possible?

Meanwhile, if you're familiar with HTML, you can create a web page offsite and embed the Multi player as I have done. Take a look at the HTML source of my Woodstock (https://songcrafters.org/Festivals/Woodstock%20jukebox.html) or Golden Oldies (https://songcrafters.org/Festivals/Early%20BossBR.html) pages to see how I did it. The section labeled "Jukebox Data" is all you need to worry about. There's also some documentation on the Multi player web page (http://flash-mp3-player.net/players/multi/documentation/).

I have been playing around with the multi-player for a little while and it works great, but you need to have a place to put up an html page.

I've posted a tutorial on this in the "Introduce Yourself" board and made it a sticky:

Sai, I'm a bit disappointed you didn't include your Greeny'd up version of Sara Smile in the list.
