Title: "Fool Am I' a Hook original for LITLR2Fest

LitLR2 (banner image missing)

I wrote and recorded this one last night in my studio. once again I had a short window between getting the littles down and the rest of the family getting home. Sat down with the Fender Strat through the Blackstar Beam into the DP24. I got a TC Helicon Voicetone TI the other day and have the beta58 going through that, It's subtle but I can definitely tell it evens out my dynamic changes. Had this done in about 40min., just as the garage door started to open...Ha Ha Ha HA!

Fool Am I
written & performed by Hook
I love the way we swaddle
our narcissism
in Science or Faith

I love the way we turn
mistakes and misfortunes
into some sort of plan

What kind of fool I am
Surely I believe in something

do I just travel along the breeze

The chops are to die for bud - Love it when you play guitar. I remember thinking that same thought a long time ago.

Could listen to this end on end.

You the man!

Delay on Stratocaster sounds so good! Very dynamic recording.

I like this Hook. I like how it is uncluttered, and yet still feels complete. Very thoughtful song , full of soul.

I like the delay and verb on the guitar it's nice and creamy. Great job and nice song.
How do you like the TC Helicon Voicetone? I can hear the dynamic tightness from the compressor working giving it a warm sound. Does it seem to work along the lines of what the Boss CS-3 does for instruments? Sounds subtle and gives yours voice a nice presence. I have a Digitech VL-4 and the compressor in it has a big range, but you have to really work to dial it in when using a condenser mic.

This is a great return on a forty minute investment!

Nice guitar - the wash of delay/reverb gives a fullness to the production. And leaving the vocal dry and up-front sounds amazing in headphones. Nice ending too.

Talent will out, even if given only the briefest of windows.

Impressive. Love those Fender Strat dashes of colour you add throughout (I would like to hear you play that guitar more!). Lovely stuff indeed!!

Yes I agree with that quote Talent will out, even if given only the briefest of windows.
Could not have put it better myself.
I too like it when you get on that electric guitar man.
It must seem so strange after playing on all those little uke frets.
You are the man,,,,,,,,,,40 mins before the garage door goes on ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

How can an artist remember each piece of art they produce when there are over 800, on this site alone like you have Hook?...God only knows how many songs you have written Hook... blows my mind..  I really like this because the guitar is so amazing sounding and it fits so perfect to your vocals... do these songs occupy a special place in your heart or do they just become like any other?  I know all of us are different and how we listen to, participate in, and cherish sounds and songs are different from each other.  I respect that and like to try and understand that in others...
