I dont think they had charts when Tommy and I were born...... ;D
Do they have to have charted or just released in the year?

Oops I meant to hit that button but guess I screwed up :)
I think any of released, recorded, written, or charted is fine. Charts are an easy way to find songs from a particular year but they're hard to find before the 1960s. The following list is a good reference:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Songs_by_year (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Songs_by_year)
It lists songs by "the year in which they were written, or first performed, published, recorded, or released."
There's only sh*t in the charts the year I was born, I wonder why I came out...
Voting closed.
The winner is
The Year You Were Born
- Covers of songs that were released, recorded, written, or charted in the year you were born.
You will be able to do The Charleston now Tommy....lol
I'm looking forward to hearing Speed Demon's cover of "Daisy Bell (Bicycle Built For Two)" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daisy_Bell).

Just kidding, Gene. I'm no spring chicken myself. ;D
Whit key was Beethoven's fifth in again?
Looking over the list of songs from the year I was born (1952)
This is really, really tough... ???
Like John Lennon said: 'Before Elvis there was nothing'! :D
