Bye Bye Love
Everly Brothers
Written by Felice and Boudleaux Bryant
Vocals, Ukulele, and Bass: Ted
Recorded on Micro BR (only three tracks plus MBR drums)
My first festival contribution in years. It wasn't too hard. I may do another.
magic, uke sounds fab.
Lovely stuff, Ted. You sing really well.
:)
Brilliantly done. The harmonies are spot on, and the uke works so well. That's some performance.
That is a really really could sound and recording of One of my favourite tunes Your harmonies are top notch and the bass really works quite well and this gives it that bottom man gets a lot from. Well done brother rock on!
Fabulous!
Excellent cover. The vocals, uke and bass all sound fantastic. Well recorded too.
Superb cover, Ted. Outstanding vocals and uke - everything sounds so tight and clean, and fine attention paid to detail.
Loved it!

Thanks! I don't think of myself as a singer, but I noticed that this song was in a certain nasally sweet spot for me.

I've been wanting to do something like this for awhile: Mix the high end of the uke with the low end of my five-string bass. The low open B-string is in there a bunch of times.

The Micro BR is a wonderful piece of technology. I didn't do most of my normal recording prep; I didn't even mute my phone or drink a beer. I just sat on the couch and started. The lead vocals and the uke were done on the same track. Took me about ten tries to get through it, between not quite knowing the words, uke mistakes, and the landlady's f***ing dogs barking.
All is perfect: bass ,voices, Uke
Merci pour cette reprise
what a cover fantastic ,, and those vocals/backing vocals brilliant ........tonyc
I have a love/hate relationship with this song, but this is just fab.
You abandon all the cheesiness of the song and keep the innocence and joy!
Well done Ted, giving this song new life for me! I even want to cover it myself now ;D
Ted this is a brilliant recording ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I would go as far as to say one of the best recordings for the %o's Fest so far.

Make yourself comfortable on the couch. Tell me more about this love/hate relationship.
I was just focused on getting a recording done -- anything -- and get it done quickly to break my dry spell. So I didn't give any thought to interpretation, or irony. I just did a straight-up cover.
Would love to hear your cover. Maybe you'll work though these issues you have.
Myself: I think this is just about a perfect pop song -- in a league with "My Girl," "I Wanna Hold Your Hand," and "Breakfast at Tiffany's."
Lovely version... that uke sounds perfect for this. Superb vocals, mate!
This was just stellar. Fantastic vocals, great sounding uke, and that bass just glues it together. Really enjoyed this.

Thanks, Blooby. Most of my gear is on the other side of the globe right now. Bass and uke are all I have going right now, so I'm glad people think that they work together.
Brilliant Ted,
One of the best recordings for the 50s fest.
Well done......
Alex
Oh yes, the vocal is super and the arrangement of the uke and bass is fantastic.
Fabulous version, Ted.
