This is 1 of 2 I wrote & recorded on Thursday, a few different car sessions throughout the day. The verse is in 9/8 & the chorus is in 5/4. The baritone uke was recorded with the irig pickup through the amplitude iphone app. It's a bit of a pain in the ass & it picks up every move you make, every slide across the back of the uke...Oh well.

I wish I could play ukulele
like Eddie Van Halen plays guitar
instead I play like my
grandmother driving a car
wish I could think myself
out of intense predicament
instead I'm putting round pegs
in square holes like an infant
Perhaps I paint to bleak a picture
maybe it's not as bad
but I don't feel comfortable
and that makes me mad
I wish I acquired wealth
enough to sustain my own for generations
Instead I Pinch every penny
and divide them into up equal rations
Perhaps I cloud my vision
with spots stripes and plaids
I seem to have dropped my eye for beauty
and that that makes me mad
I wish I was eloquent
and had been graced with a silver tongue
Instead words are like hurdles
and meanings are ladders with broken rungs
Perhaps I deceive myself
Plots left of center a tad
Conspiracy that could possibly be
And that makes me mad

Very easy going jazzy sound on the two Ukes with some thought provoking words Hook! Does the IRig pickup attach to the Uke? It sure picks up clearly.
