My first solo song of 2016! A Southern Rocker with some slight turns after the first chorus and at the outro. It took me 4 days to get this one finished.

Farrell Jackson - songwriter, all vocals and instruments. I'm debuting my 2007 G&L Stratocaster, on the guitar solos, into a 5 watt Epi Jr. amp. The rhythm guitar is an Ibanez big body jazz style.

DrC - drums programming.

The lyric is based on a semi truth. I was in Rome and missed the train and almost got pick pocketed but I was with my wife. I just drew upon the feelings of that moment for these lyric....that's what we do as songwriters, right? Lol.

Missed my scheduled train
Feelin' all abandoned
Longing for home

'til four more hours
So here I sit
On my suitcase tower

(Chr) So I.... Guess if I wasn't here
I'd be somewhere
But that's..... Neither here nor there
'Cause I'm going no where

So I'm...Waitin' on the next train
To take me down the tracks
To pull.....Me away from the pain
That's turnin' my heart..... black...........

(V-2)  People in a hurry
Almost got robbed
But for a watchfull eye
I thanked him kindly

A friendly pigeon
Lookin' to share my bread
As the other lost souls
Check their schedules

No wonder it took 4 days Farrell, It's brilliant..
I love the way your Strat burst in with the solo..
This is one of the best songs I have heard for a while..

yeah baby, a great song.

i love the tone of the guitar at the intro, has a dark and dirty feel like your lead vocal. a lived in, experienced sound.

i'm gibbering now, but what a fabulous song, piepod bound.

wow - radio ready! Great songwriting - excellent vocals - really enjoyed this track Farrell, super sounding guitars. Faultless production - a winner in my opinion. Super start to the year, more please.

Yes. That´s right! Really good song and you are such a great musician! And a great singer. I love that Eagles-vibe especially in this time.

Pro-standard stuff all round, as usual, Farrell.  I particularly enjoyed the guitar  - that G&L sounds wonderful!  Vocals are stunning.

This is a lovely clean mix; and you have a great voice. I like the way the track builds progressively from those initial dark guitar notes. I'm not surprised it took awhile to put together.

Update: I've given this a new mix with the addition of the drums that DrC contributed. I think it's a better mix and better drums so I'm officially calling it done. Thanks DrC!

hey Farrell...I see your vocals have only gotten better over time...and they were good to start with! Real nice tune here...great chorus and a nice arrangement. Good tones from the trio of axes. Well mixed and recorded as always.Nice job buddy!

Wow, super strong background vocals. Really caught me out when they first came in. And then that gorgeous Stratty Strat comes in. Stellar post with a tasty solo. Enjoyed this immensely.  Downloaded.
