Title: Hickory Hollers Tramp
Post by: Groundy on January 13, 2016, 07:37:50 AM
I found a box of backing tracks I used in the 70s when I was doing a cabaret act, In those days I had to get them made for me each tune cost about £8 which was a fair amount for one track in the 70s..So I converted one today from tape to wav file then added the vox....
Recorded with my MBR.

Thanks for listening.....Alex

Sounds real good Alex! The music translated well from tape to digital and your voice fits it like a glove. Well done!

Great stuff, Alex... funny I didn't recognise the title but as soon as I heard the track I new it straight away. Great quality backer, especially for something recorded in the '70s. Cracking vocal too, mate.

Just used an online calculator... you were paying the equivalent of £60 per track when you paid £8-00 in around 1976!!! That puts it into perspective, eh? :)

Some money aye John, mind you I was getting about £20 a booking, that's why I could get backing trAcks at £8. Scary now I think back.......wish I could get the equivalent today...lol...
Cheers Alex
