Title: Better Off Alone - Alice DJ
Post by: bostjan on December 10, 2015, 09:32:29 AM
Better Off Alone - written by Sebastian Molijn and Eelke Kalberg back in 1998

Recorded on Boss Micro BR-80 with Oni CF8, Oni SO7, guitars and Dingwall NG-2 Bass.

The arrangement could use a little work, I admit, but it was still fun to do.

Please let me know what you think, good, bad or indifferent.

Cheers,
Bostjan

Brought a smile to my face, Bostjan.  Big fan of reinventing songs in different genres.  I think you're right that the arrangement could use some work, it seems a bit busy in the lower mid.  Maybe the bass is a little hot?

No biggie though.

I remember going to a couple's engagement party where they had the original of this as their first dance, although I think they were aware of the irony.  Don't know if they're still together.

Thanks Nick!

I'll have to go back and play with the mix.  I don't think I properly structured the gain on the bass after recording the guitar.  I really appreciate your feedback!

Cheers,
Bostjan

Badass in my book but I'm listening on laptop speakers.
Rock On!
