Woah. Way to go Farell and co.
This is brill, it has the Zep flavour, but also your own stamp. I haven't listened to any Zep for a very long time but you have put me in the mood.
Fantastic singing and super arrangement / playing all round.
Cheers
Mike
Oooooh - that acoustic sounds amazing - that's a perfect recorded sound. The whole thing super well balanced and so well performed and recorded. Brilliant. WOW! Well done you all - this is really quality piece, you should all take a bow.

I thought I commented on this. I was apparently to taken with this production to type. Very imaginative take on this tune with excellent production. The singing, vibe, and slide are all just perfect.
Wow.

I remember your first post of this on guitar and voice only, which was also fantastic. Some really tasty additions (especially love the bass and slide), and the extra polish added in production is evident.
Beautiful job, Farrell and friends!
Strated down your playlist and found this jem. Love it! Really well done... so excellent.
Yep, love it. ;D
Vocals are great, really like the fretless bass ... And then there's the slide.
Cool version 8)
Blimey, I'd missed this corker! Devastatingly good.
Paul
Thanks all! I was quite pleased with the new additions.

I dig it man, very cool version.
Can I ask a bit about how you recorded the drums and bass? They both sound very clean.
The guitars and vocals also sound crisp and tasty, well done.
Also, what did you record this on?

Sorry for the late reply CaptainJimbo but I just saw your questions today.
The bass and drums were recorded by a friend (Kevin) at his studio in Canada with ProTools. He is a drummer that keeps a drum set mic'ed up and ready to record at any time. The bass is an acoustic bass, also recorded with ProTools, by Kevin's friend, Scott. I'm not sure what mic's were used on the bass.
As for my parts, acoustic and vocals, were recorded on a Fostex VF160 16 track digital recorder. Here's the set up:
Your Time Is Gonna Come. The challenge was balancing my strings patting, strumming and picking attack. I had the signal level very hot to pick up the string pats and when I went to a full rhythm I had to play it softly to keep from redlining. Surprisingly, it worked out well.
1. Taylor GS Mini with pickup direct to recorder, tuned to double dropped C
2. Taylor GS Mini mic'ed with Rode NT1A same tuning
3. Taylor GS Mini lead guitar same tuning
4. Lead vocal Neumann TLM 103 Mic
5. Hi harmony vocal same mic
6. Lo harmony vocal same mic
I recorded and blended the mic'ed and onboard pickup acoustic tracks in the mix. It was one take onto two tracks.
That's about it. Thanks for the review and sorry for the lag in replying.
Farrell
Very tasty production my good man, I'd love to know how you recorded that acoustic guitar, it sounds like it's properly mic'ed up and it's super clean.
It all sounds great.

Yeah... I haven't listened to this band in far too long. Thanks for re-awakening my taste fro a bit of Led Zep! This is astonishingly good... really professional sounding. Great performances all round, chaps!
