A little bit of Tres indulgence. Wrote this yesterday and it took me all day to be able to play it through without messing up. Recorded in the car using the on board mics of the 008. I'm a bit disappointed in the Tres, the electronics are not working >:( The pre amp lights up so it must be in the jack, perhaps I'll take it out and examine.

1 Tres melody (stereo)

What a great name for a band.
I am liking this a lot, but the background tres parts I'm not sure of. They are very (tres?) cool, but I'm not sure if they detract from the great vocal (after the :35 mark or so). It's nit picky, but since we have broken bread together, I'll put it out there.
That's my kind of ending, by the way.
I know you are vexed about the preamp, but if you aren't planning on using this live, I think it records extraordinarily well.

What a fun song so glad to have heard this
another marvelous creation . u r turly gifted Hook
thanks for sharing all of your talent and songs cheers NEIL .!!
Sounds brilliant Hook,Love the Tres, as Blooby said if you are not using it live it records just fine..
Nice one well done......
Alex
Oh I love it !!!
Some really cool melodic moves on the Tres !
oh and I agree with Blooby, don't worry about the electronics, it sounds so damn good recorded the way you do it !
Hook, on both of your Tres songs I've listened to, the picked beginnings of each takes my mind immediately to the 12 string start of California Dreamin' by The Mamas and Papas. Not that it's a copy but it has that sound. As others have mentioned, the Tres records excellently when it's mic'ed so if you can't fix the electronics it's no big deal. I really like your latest songs vocals....it sounds like you're more at ease with your delivery and it comes across very well.

A fine song. Love the ending....
To be clear - I like the whole song as well as the ending.

Tres Bon (if I remember my French correctly), bro - great sound. I think on board pickups are always a compromise, so I prefer to mike. It may simply be a broken connection, so easy to fix - but who knows.
Tres Bon On. ;D ;D

Dig this tune Hook ... great vocal and the cool bright sounds are perfect for this.

WOW! Nice feel here! Clear production sounds so good!
This worked for me on every level. I especially liked your voice and the feel of the song. Excellent.

Great song Hook. Very well played.
I had to look up what a "Tres" was. Thought it was maybe a short scale guitar or a steel by the sound of it.
Either way - I think it sounds fine recorded. You can always mic it up if you use it live.
You certainly have a unique voice and the music your producing sounds different from the crowd and thats what matters these days. Great production.
Nice one, very original sound with great lyrics. Willie
I love the sound, love the song. I'm going through all your tres songs now.
Here is a photo of me, 21 years ago, in Havana, fucking around with a tres, trying to make sense of the tuning.

Fifteen minutes after I left this restaurant it hit me – how to adapt some guitar chord shapes to the tuning of the tres. But the opportunity was gone.
I thought about buying a tres in Cuba, but I wisely did not. US Customs and Immigration nailed me when I passed through the US Virgin Islands, and they took (almost) all of my souvenirs. I watched them pour out my rum into big garbage bins. They let me keep my music CDs – which I still have. The rum and cigars would be long gone by now.
Also: I still have that hat and fanny pack – here in Madagascar.
