Sorry I haven`t been around everyone. I`ll give it a short story to a long story - Summer vacation without rest or going anywhere :-[
Another short story to a long story - I sold everything i had except my guitars and bought new stuff and used stuff! :D
I`ll have to make G.A.S thread when i get time.
RUSH finished up their final world tour. I know they`ll play again but not world tours. They are coming to the end of their careers, so i wanted to try another RUSH song since i screwed the last one`s production up.
So this was done on my Les Paul with new PUPS, SD distortion SH-6 and Jazz SH-2, into my little Blackstar HT-5 and my new MIM Fender P bass with a SD Quarter Pounder pickup.
The rhythm guitars were recorded direct interface from line out of amp and the solo was miced up with a SM-57.
Gotta get rolling on originals again here soon!
Bloody Hell....
This is Brilliant......
So good to hear you again.....
So-Pro........
Love that guitar, and the vox is spot on...
More...More....More.
Alex

That's how to do a rock song. I love this and will listen again. And again.
Vocals are fabulous and the guitar playing spot on brilliant.

Holy crap man, this is spontaneously combusting stuff you got going on here. Those guitars are incredible and your vocal amazingly out of this world. This is so freaking good I don't know that rush played it this badass!!! you are a freaking monster and I'm glad you're back brother!

Fabulous cover. This is really tight and well performed. Amazing vocal as well.
I always loved that descending run. I remember it was a Mt. Everest moment for me back in the day. Bloody great all the way around. That opening run in your solo I guess is my new Mt. Everest. Bloody Hell...
Back to the woodshed.
Blooby
Yip this is a fab recording. Loved this.

Dude - You absolutely nailed this tune. That guitar tone is thicker than my prom date. Fantastic job on the vocals too. Geddy would be proud of this tribute.
Take a bow my friend. This is what rock guitar sounds like.
Heard this the other day, then people were beckoning, so never got to comment...
Who are you man?! :D
Are you in disguise on here but really work in the music industry? :o
Sounds totally awesome.
Back for another listen. Just ridiculously good...ya bastard. My high compliment for the day is. I air-guitared to this (and I still couldn't pull it off). I have to go back to the air-guitar woodshed.
Blooby
Wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww off the scale guitar greatness and that vocal is amazing,I would need to stick my genitels in a vice to get to those notes.
Absolutely fantastic piece of work, the new gear you bought sounds great.
I read an article recently on rush and the drummer is slowly grinding to a halt through having arthritis in his hands.
An absolutely fabulous tribute to a fantastic band.
My favourite Rush song of all time is The Trees.
Those guitar runs are amazing
You rock my friend, this makes me want to go and record a new original rock song.
Now where did I put that vice 😀😉

I love a bit of Rush & this is exceptionally well put together. Brilliant in every way... vocals; instrumental performances; recording & production - all absolutely to notch. Amazing guitar work too. Blows me away!
Eric, you are a serious monster! No point in looking for more superlatives.
Very well done, my friend.

Missed this first time 'round...(https://www.southbayriders.com/forums/attachments/504555/) (https://freesvg.org/storage/img/thumb/1552330059.png) That was %)!
I would say that I am a huge Rush fan...like I listened incessitantly album by album for at least their first 12 albums... my favorite period though is the 80's but the first Rush I heard was "A Farewell to Kings" and 2112 back in the mid to late 70's....
this cover is absolutely amazing.. from the playing to the vocals...everything...
Day-yum!
