Title: Six Million Dollar Man
Post by: launched on April 08, 2009, 10:43:44 PM
I just got this thing a little bit ago and was surfing to find a way to load in custom drum tracks. I saw the A team theme, listened and was rightly impressed. Funny thing is, one of the first tunes I messed with was another TV theme. No bass, lots of clipping and had a hard time adding to the song. Wish I paid more attention when making it, but the bacon and eggs got in the way. Can't believe you can do so much at the kitchen table! I still don't know what I am doing yet....

I bought the MBR to record my buddy's gigs from the pocket, but I guess more can be done with a little planning. Time to dig it back out again and maybe read the manual!

Yeah, it's amazing what this little thing can do!! It can be very addictive ;) 6 Million dollar man.....hmmm.....sounds familiar~ Your production was totally cool man~especially for one of your first recordings! I didn't notice any clipping~ One thing you might want to do before you read the manual is check out the YouTube Tutorial Videos to help you get started....I hope you stick around and post some more stuff!!This place is great for tips and inspiration~~

Thanks for the comments, guys! Had a lot of fun making it. I would throw a tantrum if my folks didn't let me stay up to watch the show... Thanks for the YouTube advice, Kody - I've been through a couple tutorials already.

Sampled a few other postings and you are all masters of this awesome device. I now have a ton of questions and hope to see you guys around! I promise not to be too overbearing, though...

Slo-Mo City  ;D

Awesome post!

We have the technology to build the world's first bionic man.
Steve Austin will be that man!
We can make him better....stronger.....and faster!

You know what would be cool? If you added some of those sound effects, like when he uses his bionic eye! do-do-do-do-do-do-do!

Great job! Keep them coming!

Great job!!  I remember that show also.  AND don't forget the bionic woman. LIndsey Wagner.  What a team LOL

Thanks again for the comments! I did have the Steve Austin action figure with the bionic eye you couldn't see anything out of - it also had the latex covered arm with the bionic parts inside.

I wanted to put in some sound effects, but I couldn't even get a decent sound bite of the actual song on the internet so I had to wing it. The bionic eye sound was pretty cool on the show - I liked the stiff-armed slo-mo hit sound the best. That's how we used to play it in the back yard.

And wiley, yes I do remember Jamie Sommers (Lindsey Wagner). She was the cutest thing in the back yard, but I always ended up being Oscar Goldman so I didn't get any action  :'(

Cheers, everybody!

Mark

Very cool indeed, great fun and great first post. Welcome and keep going with the MBR - you got a good recording here, with less bacon and eggs you'll be progressing in leaps and bounds!

Cheers,

Great cover!!!!!

I liked the engine block you got with the action figure... and the way you could peel the skin on his arm back, lol

You need the sound effects on this! Bionic eye and jump noises!

Love it. Brings back memories...of a simpler time...how we were so easily captivated by mediocre plot lines and bitchin' TV soundtracks.

Hey this is great that Tony bumped this or i never would of known this was you first Mark. Awesome man!
I was a bionic man freak when i was a kid too.Yeah i had the damn doll too! Very comical to watch now. I`d probably laugh to death from cheesiness. Remember the episode with Andre the Giant as bigfoot. Out of this world hilarious!! haha

You HAVE come a long way and hope to hear tons more!!!

Nice bump Tony - It shows that everyone had to start somewhere  :D My first post feels just like yestard-day... And thanks for hangin' /w me all this time - It's been a great ride! And of course we're musical brothers. You can't ever take that away. Your guitar work is really starting to kick ass, too - I love it, bro.

Neil, not quite worth six mill, but thanks for the comment!

Dave!!! Oh, yeah! What a sweet 'ol time we've had over the past year - And thanks so much for helping me round out several of my tunes with those great guitar/synth solos. You are a true gem. Thank goodness there is lots of time to do much more!

And who can't love the Sandman!! We're gonna get together with the brown sound someday - It's only a matter of time...

Eric - It's been great to know you, and I loved the collab we did - You are a pro musician all the way around! Get back on the vocals, though - They really shine I tell you!

Ah, I'm rambling... Thanks everybody!

I always remember wanting to be the bionic man as a kid and it would have been better in those economic times.

He would have been the 600 million dollar man these days or would he? What if you got the parts from a certain
communist country? Did he have a bionic penis and could he only do it with the bionic woman?

Anyways i really liked how you arranged this..It`s perfect!
