Hey there, my new Roland BA-CS10 mic came in tonight, so to try it out I recorded this little song. I recorded this playing the guitar and singing at the same time straight into the MBR via the BA-CS10, no effects except for reverb on 40. I recorded it straight to two stereo tracks, set sens to 0 and away I went. I think I am going to like this little mic a whole lot. What do you all think? Oh yea, this is a cover of a Wilco song called "Someone Else's Song"
Alright!! We finally get to hear these mics! I just got my Sony, and noticed the step up in quality from the onboard right away...I bet this is a huge step up from that!
I haven't heard this song before....I think I like your vocals on this track more than anything I've heard you post...You sound good, BB! I might have to get one of these...it's bigger than the Sony isn't it? Can't wait to hear some more..... 8)
Great BB! So far I've thought that the onboard would be enough, but you bake me wonder. This was a great recording, well sung and played. Have you really just picked up the guitar a couple of years ago? Amazing

What incredible sound quality. Crystal clear, and with a really natural acoustic tone. Just wonderful. And a great song & performance too. I don't think you could get both the guitar and the vocal like that on the onboard mic. Nice one! :)
really top notch recording, and thanks for reminding me of wilco not listened to them for ages, great interpretation, and sound quality is far superior to the sony stereo mic i have.
Your Vocals really suit this..Well Done 8)
Great minds etc I have just ordered the cheap sony stereo mic which I am sure will not be as good but it's all my vox deserves ;D ;D
Well done with your new mic sound quailty is excellent and so is your cover of this song, don,t think I,ve heard it before, but a great job
BB that was great. You and your guitar were very clear. I bought the Sony mic and have yet to use it as I thought the on board was good. But I may have to try it now. Again great job!
Sounds great, The mic sounds awsome.
liking the tune.

Thanks everybody for the great comments. I guess my voice is most suited for these slow folky type of songs :D. That is ok by me as I love this kind of music anyway. A far as the size of the mic, I think it is the same size as the Sony one. Wilco, what a band, up there in my top 5 favorite bands of all time. They are the modern day version of The Band in my books. I actually have a bit of a cold and that may have added something in my voice that sounded good with this type of song (a bit of that 2 packs of cigs a day sound). Yep I have been playing guitar about 2 years but because of all the wasted time not playing, I took things very seriously and work at it a lot, I play everyday and I am continuously trying to learn something new. Finding this forum has been a big help in that regard, so many musical styles represented here, and so much positive encourgement. Thanks to everyone who listened and commented. 8)
Beautiful, as always. Very, very nice song, indeed. You've found your voice and I like it. Keep it coming, whether original or cover, it all sounds good.

Wow .. I'm really impressed BB!! I think it's wonderful to know than even guys our age can learn something new. And you've really proven that it's possible. ,,,,, ... hmmm maybe I should pick up the violin ... well ... to keep the peace at home, maybe not :) ... I think I'll stick to the gtr and improving my singing 8)
