iPad users might be interested in this drum controller from Simmons. Six velocity-sensitive pads and two pedals (hi-hat and kick drum). Can also be used with any computer via USB/MIDI. Only $129 (£78 ?) and available now (in the US but maybe not in the UK just yet).
Note: this company is not related to the original British company famous for their electronic drums. Guitar Center merely bought the rights to use the name and logo to market inexpensive drum products made in China.

This is a great development, hopefully we will se more and more of this kind of thing....musical hardware to interface with the iPad universe of Apps. Great stuff.
This looks really cool :

That looks amazing, costs over a grand and I definitely want one. What does it do?

Ok now I want both!
I like Apogee. I've got their Jam guitar interface which I use for getting my guitar into the phone, works great and sounds good, although I haven't tried any others to compare.

I too have an Apogee Jam, and it's absolutely OK, both for iPad and Mac.
But anyway today the level of these small guitar interfaces is very, very high. Very good alternatives today to the Apogee jam are the Sonuus i2M Musicport

...and the Line6 SonicPort (that includes a very good software for iPad, in Amplitube-style):

I have them both, and they are great interfaces. But the iRig Pro is another possible good choice too.
Alfredo
Any of these work with my Blackberry :-)
I just bought the iRig HD, works really well, downloaded Amplitube and some of the fender amps, all good, definately will use for recording. The drum loops on Amplitube also sound of good quality.
i am hoping to get an ipad mini in the near future, what sort of hardware would i need to connect my korg nanokey 2 to the ipad, to use the nanokey as an interface with garage band and the like.
According to the "In The Box" section on these two pages, the iPad mini comes with a "Lightning to USB Cable" and a "USB Power Adapter". That should be all you need.

Not sure what connector is on the end of the Lightning to USB cable. If it's a standard Type A receptacle, then you should be able to plug the nanokey's USB cable straight into it.

I think that's what you get since I've seen it in a few photos on the web. Here's an example.

However, if the Lightning to USB cable has a Type A plug on the end as in the following picture, then you'll need to get a suitable adapter.

I'm anxious to hear what you do and how you set it up.
Rock on!
hoping santa gets me this. http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/recording-studio/detail.asp?stock=160926302500008
