inspired by Arthur and Trillians flying scene from (I think) "Mostly harmless".

Home alone one evening, just felt like some Rock'n'Roll. Just watched "Hitchhikers guide.." and Bones the evening before, hence the lyrics. As many of you guys I'm not really confident singing, but what the hey... all friends here :)
Guitar used: Ibanez Studio (ST-300). All effects MicroBR.
... and yes the vocals where recorded in the bathroom
G.
this is Neat m8! Love it, i thought your vocals was awsome, really
suits the music. Perhaps abit to much reverb on it.
Nice one! This has a Doctor Feelgood vibe to it... just balls-out blues rock. The bathroom is a good place for vocals. Nice reverb ;)
Rock n roll all the way. A fully realized, well played blues rock song. Good one. Yea love the guitar solos. Great ending with the sink or what ever is making the water sound (can't be, can it?)
That's great. Absolutely loved it. I don't listen to all that many songs here all the way through but that hooked me......great fun.
Don't be paranoid about your vocals.....they suit the song perfectly.
I do think you've used too much effects on them though (too much echo/delay) Pull them back a bit and it won't sound so muddy.
Thanx for the encouragement.. you people are great! I might even post some more with vocals.
as for the water sound .. let's just say it was recorded in the bathroom 8).
mmmmm and the excessive reverb .... that's of course intended. most of it is actually put on a vocaltake that's somewhat lower in the mix. I should have held the main vocals a bit dryer, but sort of liked the result ...
anyways ... Cheers
Love the blues vibe and your vocal same as Greeny Dr Feelgood all the way also love your solo magic.
Great rock'n roll sound. Like that stuff. I like the reverb! Gives the voice more fullness or something.
NICE TAPPIN' Whoa!!~ You've got skillz man! 8)
Greats fun, loved this and a great solo at the end. Nice production job on the instruments, great rockin sound all round. You did well on the vox - it's great to have a go, and as BAG said, just clean them up a bit and you'll continue to surprise yourself. The beauty of the MBR is that you can get a good vocal sound without having to worry about expensive mikes and all that stuff.
Cheers,
Nigel
on-this-day yesterday bump ::)
This was my first post with vocals ......
Like many, I was very fond of reverb in my early posts :D
I think I've learned a bit in those two years
QuoteLike many, I was very fond of reverb in my early posts
i still use it lol. it's a lack of confidence thing on my part.
anyway how the hell did i miss this, its like brian eno circa kings lead hat, fabtastic.
I nearly did a cover of this for Tribute fest. Still love it, early Geir! Shy about singing.................awwwww bless!

Ha, don't get me started!! ;D Actually, this has a cool echo to it that sounds cool to me. What a great take - I missed this one as I wasn't quite a member yet.
I remember some of my first half assed attempts when I got my MBR, and you mastered it from the get to - You are putting out some amazing work!!
Sweeeeeeet, excellent and frickin' awesome!!!
Luv ya bud,
Mark
That's some serious guitar playing! Or should I say, a more stellar Sirius guitar playing?!?!?
I thought the song was about Caprica's Zoe Graystone!

I know it doesn't look like, but she will be the first Cylon!
Thanx guys!!
Just realized, this could almost qualify for the fab-fest as it's inspired by Arthur and Trillians flying scene from (I think) "Mostly harmless".

and Zooey is of course the lovely Zooey Deschanel and her sister ... well that's Emily ....

BTW Zooey also has quite a nice voice and her music is rather a pleasant listening experience, both alone and in "She and Him"
I can see how this one would have been missed, it was posted about 2 weeks before I bought an MBR, a guitar, and joined the forum. I wanted to use the MBR as a guitar trainer.... As of now, I still have not used it as a trainer. Awesome....
I love the surf rock/blues vibe here Geir. What really impresses me is the progress you've made vocally since this one. Amazing.
Lovely bit of rock with some classy guitar work. This would sound as fresh as the day you laid it down........Willie
Just catching up with this one now.....great song....lots of fun. Guitars really rock and the vox fits the song perfectly. Flush at the end made me laugh. You get such great sound out of the MBR. Nice work here!
This is brilliant, great vocals uplifting loved it
Dude...
You are freaking awesome!!!!!!!!!
i dizzy now after a super duper master bump, hey which dimension is this?
Love this one! As mentioned above, I was planning to do a cover of it for Tribute Fest but after playing around for a while I realised I couldn't beat the original! Listening to it again, I realise I was right! Loved it then, love it now.
...............Love it for all time..............I feel the need to use the bathroom now for some strange reason, back in a few minutes.............
I missed this! Very rockin and your first vox performance on here?
You sound the same as you always do! Incredibly good and original!
P.S Love the rockin guitar solos!!!!!!
Don't know how I missed this one - terrific little rocker!
I also missed this one ,what a belter.
That tapping is off the wall good.
Nice one.
Searching the EarlyDays jukebox for something to connect with and found the 1st vocal from Geir. You've been a badass forever! Love this brother.
Rock on!
This is what i'd call a toilet rocker!
Fab stuff 8)
Terrific bump
Nice shredding Geir. Love the bathroom plate reverb.
