OK... I'll see what I come up with :)
I can hear one part "Dimples" and one part "Green Onions."
Did John Lee Hooker do "Dimples" originally?
Blooby

Yep - original lyrics. Already have the bare bones of them in my head, so will sing them tonight and post tomorrow. There's such a great groove on this.
Tim,
this will be very interesting to see how the individual guitarist will interpret your lyric.

That is too funny, I was just thinking today that I haven't had much time to let rip over a backer lately, and here is your post 48, excellent idea. I can't wait to hear what Greeny comes up with first and then what we all do with it. I am pumped. Great idea. 8)

sounds like you've got the blues already ;D ;D
This is going to be great to watch and hear. Looking forward to finding out what you have in mind Greeny.
New Title: 'SLIDE ON HOME' .....
Here you go. Lyrics done on the train and just sung after a f*cking pisser of a long day. Good therapy! The words are mine, but I tried to get a vintage kind of feel in the tone and delivery. There's plenty of guitar space: at the intro, break, and play out. ENJOY!!!!
Note: You'll need to preserve the stereo on this one. Import to tracks 1&2 or 3&4, and pan L50 R50.
Tim........THAT IS TRULY INSPIRED.........the lyrics,tone and phrasing are perfect for this 60s brit blues can't wait to have a go 8) 8) 8) 8)
methinks tomrrow I'll be mostly playing the blues.... ;D
Beautiful stuff Tim, I am for sure going to take a crack at playing along and trying to compliment your wonderful vocal (it will have to wait till tomorrow). This is going to be very interesting to listen to the various versions with this superb, smooth, wonderful vocal.
Phuaaaaa! awsome vocals. nicely done!
I have been having trouble downloading the mp3. The window shows that it is downloading however when it finished there is no file. I tried other files but it gets near the end of the download and then says there is a problem with decoding the file.
Also lately when i click on the play button it takes up to a minute or more before it starts playing the track on the mini player.
Any IT geeks out there that may have an explanation????
It seems to be a problem only with Internet Explorer. See this message:

I've just downloaded the original mp3 that forte8 posted ("Brit Shuffle"), as well as Greeny's version ("Slide On Home") using Firefox without any problems.
Whoaaaa!! Greeny~ That is awesome!!
Yes Bag that was my problem I was running internet explorer. 64 guitars told me to get firefox and haven't had a problem since. The only thing It does is download songs all over my desktop. But I can deal with that. Follow his advice.

That's easily fixed. Open Firefox's Preferences, click the Main tab, and check the "
Always ask me where to save files" box.
Love the lyrics Tim!
Great singing also...
I sat and jammed along with this for awhile tonight.
That's a cool groove going on!
LG
Thanks wiley and 64. I'll give Firefox a go.
What is strange is that it all works fine here at work on IE7. ???
Tim this is just brilliant!!!!!
you have given this the "Midas touch" outstanding lyrics.....no suprise there. outstanding vocals 12/10.you only had the idea yesterday and you make it sound so easy.....now thats class!
Tony J.
Looking forward to hearing how this turns out. Feels like a 'clean' tone to me, but it will be interesting to see what gets thrown into the mix. This was so much fun to do. It's like a little holiday just to throw some vocals and filthy lyrics around :D

Lyrics aren't a problem. I've been absorbing the blues since I was a little kid, so they kind of come naturally.... :)
i will put some clean Strat to this belter of a vocal.

I can't wait to hear this. you go with clean Strat Tony, I'll think of what I can do to be a little different than yours or 48's (Sheraton I think). This really is turning into a blast.

btw Bb my take was done on my Les Paul.....
I'm still lusting after a semi ;D
As the Blues rush is dying down a bit..... ;)
I thought I'd take stock...
From what started out as a simple blues backer turned into an inspiring
Project........
Mainly due to Greeny's fantastic Vocal we had 8 participating musicians
and over 140 posts with an unbelievable 200+ downloads :o
So a big thanks from me to the BR community for giving us all this platform for growth......
Following the success of this project I am planning a "Trans-Atlantic Bluesfest" for the Easter Holidays which will include several tracks featuring some of our Finest vocalists......
SO WATCH THIS SPACE 8) 8)
Mike this was fun to be part of. a big round of applause to Tim for bring the backer alive and give it the "human touch" i am sure that anyone who played to this put more of an effort in once the lyric was added. i know i did try harder.

For sure Tony. With Greenys great vocals to respond to I tried as hard as I could to get it right. It was a really great thing to be part of for me.
