Title: Changing site display format possible ?
Post by: Neo on August 15, 2013, 01:25:21 PM
This is probably a question for 64?

I've noticed that when reading some topics found in google search results, the page is formatted to suit mobile devices like the iphone. Looking in the address bar of the page, it ends with something like WAP2. Is there a WAP version of the site?

Some SMF forums have different options at the bottom for changing the layout such as 'simple' or 'mobile' etc. Is there an option somewhere to make the site more suitable for mobiles (writing posts is a struggle), without changing the layout permanently for when viewing on a PC etc . . .

If not, have you considered adding the Tapatalk plugin? When I ran my own forum I installed it, which was very quick and simple to setup and enabled me to reach a much wider audience.

Just an idea. :)

Wireless protocol modes are supposed to be enabled automatically when you use a suitable mobile device to access the site. I've never owned a mobile phone or any other wireless devices, so I have no way of testing those features. See the following page for more information on wireless device support:

The following links will allow you to access the site in the wireless protocol modes. Choose whichever one is supported by your mobile device.

WAP works just fine from my Blackberry - much quicker as well!
